Id get 4.56s while you have the axles out.

Consider getting a Super 30 and Super 88 kit as well.

Might as well get ARBs or Ox lockers as well.

I probably will end up getting the truss, seeing as I have a $30 gift certificate to artec. I was thinking about the gears, but that depends on what the ratio for this hp30 I'm picking up is. There's a slight chance it has 3.73's (yeah, i know they're rare), the xj it came out of had a traier hitch, but the guy said it was aftermarket. Might still have the tow prep package. It all depends. Gears and install kits is like $600, depending on where I buy them from (know of any good places?), plus probably another grand for the install. And for now, I'll stay away from the super 30 and 8.8 kits, and the lockers, but thanks for trying to spend my money for me

Edit: oh, and 35's are waaaaay down the road lol

Washed a **** ton of salt off of it today. Also received and installed my mopar performance pcm. Definitely made a power difference. And going 70 on the highway, it sits 500 rpm's lower. Definitely worth it. Picking up my hp30 tomorrow morning.

That's a good find. Ill probably wait before I buy anything for it, though. I know where I want to go with it, but not sure how I'm gonna get there. Eventually I'll regear to 4.56's, but it will probably be sitting for a while until then. It's got 3.55's in it now.

On a side note, going back to class after having lunch, I parked in the front row in the lot. As I'm walking to class, I cross paths with a guy and a girl who are chatting. Right after I pass them, I hear the dude say "I love that jeep right there." Made my day.

Now I'm gonna go clean up my axle.

Cut off the upper control arm mount, cause the artec truss is gonna have one on it anyways. Primered it to keep it clean. When I get it, ill just grind the primer wherever I need to weld.

Couple more pics. I painted the shafts too. The outer ends of the inner shafts where the seal meets is kind of rotted, so the diameter where the seal meets is slightly smaller than the rest of the shaft. I hope they still seal.

Edit: my garage is a mess

Got the knuckles off my hp30 after some torching, put a coat of primer on my 8.8, and I can't for the life of me get the u-joints out of my axle shafts. The snap rings won't budge.

Put the first coat on my 8.8, and I made a brace for the truss so the axle tubes don't spin. Even though I welded the tubes, this is just extra insurance.

That's a good looking ZJ. Reminds me of what I wanted to do with mine when I had it.
