4 coats and drying. I might do 1 or 2 more coats then let them cure.

How funny would that be, lol, you're driving through a lot and see a row of prius with a WJ on 32's jammed into a parking space in between them all.

Here is a pic of the bday yesterday. I was somewhere on I-84 in CT on the way home from the Bantam Jeep Fest. My brother was on the passenger seat and took the pic while I was driving.

Painting rims is a real PITA! I think I am too much of a perfectionist for this. Anyway, I need to sand and cover a couple mistakes. I guess that's the good thing about rattle can paint; easy to fix. The VHT paint is tough to use. If you spray from too far away the paint dries as it hits the wheel and looks splotchy. If you hold the can too close the paint runs. I ended covering the paint with Duplicolor Matte clear coat. That stuff is great and covered a lot of the mistakes. I think I need to let it go since the whole idea behind rattle canning them was that they were going to get scratched off road. If you scratch powder coat you need to sandblast and recoat the whole wheel, if you scratch spray paint you just need to hit it with sand paper and touch up.

Nice build so far! I'm also busy with wheel painting and yes it is a major PITA, but well worth it in the end!

Thanks, it's a slow moving build but it's moving. The rims are curing now and are as good as they are going to get. I will post pics when I get them mounted.

Started wiring lights. I added the switches to the dash above the steering wheel and below the instrument cluster (See pic). One of the switches is for lights and the other will be for a quick emergency power cutoff for the winch. I am jumping the power for the switches from the lighter outlet. I have a solenoid under the hood for the lights and another large one for the winch cutoff, not sure where I'm going to put it yet.

Work was getting in the way today. Everything is wired up except the lights themselves. Just 4 more plugs and they're ready to go. Nothing is easy though. I had to reconnect the wire crimps on the switch a couple times for some reason it kept coming loose when I would snap the dash back in place.

I'll be adding a cutoff switch for the winch too. Here is a link to the 500amp continuous relay that I'm using. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...Bay-IB500.html

Here is a daytime pic of the lights mounted. I will take a pic in the dark with the lights on once the sun goes down.
