Flatland 4x4 WJ Non Winch Bumper

Hey guys! I haven't had anything new to offer in a while, but I've got something coming soon that you will all be interested in! I just recently bought the plans for Flatland 4x4's new WJ non winch front bumper. I it out for the first time today, and just finished tacking the shell together a couple hours ago. I can't tell you guys how good this bumper looks just sitting on a fab table, so it will be installed on my black WJ very soon . Flatland 4x4 will allow me to reproduce these, so I'd like to gauge interest from you folks to see if doing so would be worthwhile!

Let me know what you think, and definately let flatland 4x4 know! I'm not the product designer, just looking to produce their designs . If there's reasonable interest, I'll look into vendor status before accepting orders. Pricing will be extremely competetive with industry standards

The pics!

Thanks! In raw unpainted form I'm shooting for somewhere around the $600 mark. I'm exploring my options with powder coaters, so the options will expand from here. We'll see how far this design can be taken, and how efficiently we can get them out the door!

Sounds very reasonable, how far do they stick out? And are there going to be options for shackle or d ring mounts?

When it comes to most steel bumpers, this should definately be on the tight fitting side. This is actually the first one I have put together, so I have yet to install it on a WJ. This will be going on my black WJ that it currently stock, but will help me assess the final fit to dial things in. When I get to that stage, this thread will be updated with the full install pics to show exactly what you're looking for. There will definately be shackle tabs on the real version, thoroughly reinforced to hold up to serious abuse.

not bad looking... need to know:

how does it attach exactly?
how much does it weigh?
d-ring tabs that integrate directly to the mounting locations available?
final price uncoated/coated?

and also need to see pics of it mounted to see how far it sticks out.

EDIT: their site answered a couple of those questions, and it sticks out too far for my taste: http://www.flatland4x4.com/product9.html

still, nice to have a new option that doesn't look too bad.

They offer ZJ products as well . As I get more familiar with the products I want to expand into offering more of them, It will all come with time.

It attatches with 1/4" plate with holes that align with threaded holes in your frame rails. I have not actually cut and installed those peices yet, but there will definately be pics.

Honestly, what is appealing to me about it is it's actually looking to be one of the tighter fitting plate bumpers out there. You can see in my pics, the flat top center plate is only like 3.5" away from the grille at its closest. Once I get it installed I'll get a better feel for how well it fits all the size constraints us WJ guys have to deal with on front bumpers.

I forgot I snapped some pics yesterday! It's fully welded now. I broke it into ~4" sections and moved around over the whole thing to let heat evenly distribute

And fortunately, there is a picture here of exactly what you're looking for. Here is a top down shot, really helps get a feel for the depth of the bumper!

well i like the side profile and how close it sits to the body, but fron the front I just dont like the look of it......im just glad to see more and more bumper options coming available to maybe get the cost of them down some. either way, good luck with the vendor status and getting some parts to the market at a decent price!

Any thoughts of making it a little more narrow so it fits with out having flares for all of us that don't have them?

Heck yeah adavis, competition leads to innovation! I have actually been tempted to create an extremely low profile front bumper for these WJ's, that was my intent from the getgo with my very first bumper 6-7 years ago...my execution was just severely lacking haha. We'll see if I can draw one up soon!

We will have to see how it fits without flares as I do not run them either. If it's too far I will cut it down for personal use, but will have to talk it over with the original designer before producing modified designs. I'm not the product designer for this specific bumper, but I will make sure to relay the opinions to Flatland 4x4 .

Unfortunately I never saw that one, atleast not that I can recall. I'll have to go check it out!

I ground and painted up the bumper, not installed until I get my stock WJ over to the shop though
