It'll work fine, That's what I did after mine got stolen, stuck, then thrashed. At least they didn't put fire in it.

What's the reason for removing the hatch?

You lose a lot of structural rigidity without the hatch. Probably why your window broke.

Havent really been doing much to the jeep since the rear.. but now it starts again... haha.. just got my Johnny joints in to start my custom triangulated 4 link in the rear. Im still debating if i should go with trailing arms and change up my rear shock location. heres a drawing of the arms for comparison.
The shock and coilover will come off the trailing arm going through the floor in the rear and attached to the shock tower.

Here is a cell pic of the Joints..waiting on the bushings now.. so if everything goes good i will be busy this weekend .... I will also be making some Uni-body stiffeners.

These Johnny Joints are HUGE!!!!

Next i will be ordering 14" travel 2.5 King coilovers to put in place of the front spring..

My rear upper and lower control arms will be for sale soon.. so if anyone is interested pm me.. they are IRO all adjustable arms.

The shock hoops are on top of the uni frame, we cut the piece on top and welded it, I still need to make some sort of crossmember to strenghten the rear section. But for now that is how alot of jeep speed guys have the rear hoop.

I agree, this thing looks awesome! You should do a write up on your paint job and your front fenders aren't for sale are they?

This is probably the biggest transformation of any ZJ on the forum. It went from a silly little purple Jeep (no offense) to a badass prerunner. Keep up the great work man.

Your Jeep always grabs my attention So I am happy to see you have a build Thread. Although we have different wheeling styles I like what you have done. Keep it up.

I also thought I would mention that I over the last 2 days I ditched my old RC lift control arms for some real man size control arms with what appears to be the same Johnny joints. I wheeled my jeep last night and I can tell you that I am very very pleased with them. Good luck with the ZJ , I look forward to following .
