exhaust help

There are two sensors on the exhaustnof my 2007 Grand Cherokee. One is before the catalytic converter and one is after. My question is I have an engine light on. A mechanic told me that it could be either the sensor of catalytic converter I changed the sensor before the catalytic. Didnt help. Now I was going to change the converter then realized the second sensor. Could my problem be the second sensor or the converter. I hate the idea of paying so much for the converter and that wont fix it please help

Were you able to get the specific code that's stored? That will help narrow down the issue.

I did awhile back from a buddy that is a mechanic. It was for a sensor or the catalytic converter. I changed one sensor but didnt fix it then when ready to change converter I noticed a sensor after the converter and thought maybe I replaced the wrong one. Well changed that one and no fix. It looks like I need to spend the money on a new converter set up.

Try to get the code(s) and post them here. I'll look them up for you so we can narrow things down.
