Epic day trip!

Spent 11 hours driving around and exploring Mt. Hood National Forest last Thursday and went back on Saturday to show my wife and a couple friends the highlights. Enough talking, here's the pics.

I'm parked on the saddle to High Rock. Mt. Hood is front & center. Short but fun 1/2 mile 4x4 trail to the top from the main road.

View from the summit of High Rock.

Hideaway Lake

Pyramid Lake

Have to hike probably 1/2 mile to get to that lake. Saw this steel plate on the way up, freaky!!

Drove through this wildfire burnt area. It was pretty trippy.

The map I had (yes a paper map) said "High Rock Spring", I drove right past it the first time. Went back looking again and found this little trickle coming down the hill. Delicious and freezing cold spring water!

Found this on Googlemaps the night night before I went on the trip. It's called Little Crater Lake and it's a mountain spring fed lake that is absolutely crystal clear and is blue because the ledge drops straight off and is 45 ft deep! The water temp is 34 degrees! Those logs you see are sitting on the bottom. Incredible in person, this photo is NOTHING!

Found this incredible camping spot, definitely going back up to stay a couple nights here soon!

Definitely. Great pictures and find.

Lol I thought that later on! But at the time it definitely had me on alert as I didn't have my Shepherd with me on that day.

Great pics. I continue to be jealous of all of you JF members lucky enough to ride trails in such beautiful places of the country. PA is nice, but no such open trails to explore

Yeah, MD is no better. At least you can legally wheel.

Thank you for sharing your trip pics!
