So backstory,
About 4 years ago my wife's parents gave us a 97 GC 6 cylinder with about 210k miles. Well on my way home from EOD school i saw a lifted ZJ that was the same color as mine and it looked awesome. I completed school and drove from Destin, FL to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, well see what happen was the next day i went to go to the gas station and the jeep wouldn't go faster than 25 mph, so i got the transmission rebuilt. Once i got to my unit i decided to do a 4" lift w/32" KM2 and all JKS CA and TB, and Full-Traction Springs. Drove that for about a year or so then once the warranty expires what happens? Yep, the transmission blows again . I now have decided that I am done with the god forsaken ZJ. Look at a broken jeep long enough what happens most of the time, 1 you sell it or 2 you fix it. But in my case find a 98 5.9L with 107k and couldn't walk away. Only down side that i have found so far is that the rear and maybe the front axles have been changed Dana 35C (rear) and LP30 (front) not sure what the gearing is. Hoping that it is still 3.73s.

Today i completely tore the 4.0 axles out, all CA, TB, springs, disco's, u-joint axle shafts, and rear caliper brakes. Tomorrow i will take the 242 out. Put the 4.0 on a trailer after i scavenge anything else i can use off of it. Then start the transfer over to the 5.9

So short term i will have a fully adjustable 4" lift with 32, 242 TC, and U-joint front shaft conversion. Tune up, and full fluid flush.

Long term hoping to have LA's and about 6" lift and 35". Ford 8.8 rear and HP30 front, locked 4.56 gears, new steel front/rear bumpers w/light guards, full skids and rock sliders.

97 4.0 ZJ All adjustable JKS CA's, TB's, and Disco's, Rancho Stabilizer, Full-Traction Springs.

98 5.9 ZJ soon to have above list.

Got the transfer out and it was full of water so I found out what that problem was. Crack the case open and got it all cleaned out and good to go. Then spent the rest of the day putting the dang thing on the trailer. Tomorrow will start putting everything on the Niner.

Got all control arms, track bars, and springs. The whole rear is done except putting tires on, and the front is done except shocks, track bar needs tapped out, and stabilizer and tires on.

Got all the lift done today, finally! So I started the tune up on it, 1. Still had original spark plugs, 2 air filter was almost black, 3 oil was black as night.

I did a sea foam treatment to it and when that was going on some hose blew out so now I have to fix that.

So I took the Jeep to Big O Tire, and those guys tools me that they cannot do an alignment because there are two of the same thread tire rod ends, so they can't adjust anything.

So instead of paying $150 for a crappy stock one, I bought the Rusty's Offroad HD tire rod assembly. http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-...-xj-tj-zj.html

So in a couple says I will be changing it in the parking lot more than likely. Lol

Took the Jeep to Firestone and got a lifetime alignment. But since my Jeep was at Big O my battery keeps dying and I can't figure it out.
