Driving in full time mode with a 242 all the time

Would it damage anything to leave your Jeep in full time mode all the time if you have a 242 TC? Would gas mileage suffer? Not that I plan to do that any time soon but I am curious.

Nope, that is what full time was meant for. It is called full time because you can leave it there all of the time. Also, gas mileage is not affected because unlike locking hubs, everything in the drive line is already turning. The only difference is where the torque is applied.

Someone had said in another thread that a locker will be smoother on the street if you have it in full time mode with a 242. If that will work and not harm anything I may do that.

Even with just running 31s I seem to have pretty good ground clearance. I run out of traction a lot more often. A rear locker would be nice.
