donha1mn's 5.9 build thread

I got the 5.9 back in the fall of '06. Drove it as a DD for over 2 years without doing any mods to it. Some pics doing stock mudding:

First mod was an AEM CAI in Januaray of '09. A few months later I installed a brush guard. Then in April '09 I bought a set of WAAG tail light guards. In May '09 I got ahold of Kolak and purchased his 3" cat back exhaust for the 5.9 with a flowmaster 50 series. After the exhaust it remained unchanged until early Nov.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f7/go...terday-895787/

After the accident I got bit by the bug bad. I started saving and in addittion to some christmas gifts I got an ARB bull bumper in Jan '10. Pic of it the day installed:

My next purchase was bushwackers in early Feb '10. Then later that month I bought IRO 3.5" F>R swap. I got the bushwackers installed but then I just got busy and money got tight etc etc and the lift sat in my closet until last thursday. In May '10 I bought a flowmaster 44 and swapped it with the 50 which was a big improvement for me, the 50 was too quiet. Tinted my tails and sidemarkers this summer:

I got the urge to go bigger even before I got it installed. Contacted Josh at IRO last week and I returned it for a full refund and I am now getting the 4.5" premium kit with adjustable CAs with all the goodies. Should be here within the next two weeks.

Bought 4 rims from JC Whitney. With the help of a promo code I got a great deal on these: Sidebiter Black Alloy Wheels - JCWhitney

Heres some recent pics:

and a better one I could resist taking:

Im going to take some more pics hopefully tommorrow and possible a vid of my exhaust.

it would look better with some meaner tires and black rims. Right now its looks like it made for ramming something, being so low to the ground

IRO 4.5" premium lift on its way + 1" spacers. Planning on running 33s within the next month or so.

Yea that's the only thing that bothers me about it. It doesn't help that my tires are about bald too.

Yeah, right now it's at the "in between" stage and it looks a bit weird...But when lift/tires get on it's going to be amazing for sure.

Keep us posted.

Took a video of my exhaust as well as some other pics. Its looks like Im burning something, dont know if its oil or coolant. My coolant level has basically been the same for about 8 months, maybe dropped half an inch or so. Im losing/burning oil like no other. I just had my oil changed about 4 weeks ago and I was between 1-2 qts low this evening. I know Im leaking from my rear main seal but that doesnt explain the smoke in my exhaust.

More pics of the front and of the rash from the accident:

Some pics of the rear and of my rear "fogs":

arb bumper FTMFW! i just picked up a used one for 350 and i love it. needs some fresh paint but its awesome. ur jeep is gonna look so sick with the 4.5 and 33s. btw just my opinion but i'd move those lights and mount them off the tow hitch. they look kinda awkward where they are but its your jeep so yeah. looks good though man

If you wheel a jeep at all with lights there, they will rip off in a matter of seconds. I scrap my hitch more than anything else on my jeep.

I hit there too. I am unsure what wheeling is like in Kansas/Wester MO but I was familiar with SO MO and those won't last long. If you wheel any trail that is moderately difficult, those will get ripped off. It is your rig so put them where you like, just trying to save you a headache while on the trail.
