Well its been a while since my last log-in..dang

Hows the new DD working out for you? I'm hoping for a snowpocalypse this year too; we only had like 3 snowfalls last winter.

It's working out pretty well. So far I've put on a new set of tires, brake pads and rotors on it. I also bought a dash kit and kenwood head unit that I'll be installing tomorrow. So far I'm averaging 25-26 mpg. That's a big difference from driving the niner . It's nice saving gas and all but I hate not driving my jeep and driving another car that just blends into the masses.

I'm really hoping for a snowy winter. I think we may get it too since our summer was so mild and fall came so early.

I drove the jeep for the first time in over a month today and of course it was dead and needed a jump . Other than that it drove just fine. I finished cleaning up my 8.8 today so now I just need to find a shop to weld my artec kit on. Still looking for a 231 to swap in too.

There was a couple months this year where my jeep was parked for some repairs, and I sat there looking at it every day, wishing I could drive it- granted mine is still stock and blends in with the masses, but I really missed driving the thing. Now that its in working order again (knock on wood), I haven't driven anything else :P For now mine is still on DD duty.

This summer ended rather abruptly, and it seems like winter is already here with all this chilly weather. Might have to invest in a carhart soon haha

It's been awhile seen I've done anything with the jeep. At one point it sat for a little over 2 months without being driven. I try to drive it on the weekends but unfortunately it doesn't always happen. I think my battery is on its last legs. It won't hold a charge for more than a few days but letting it sit for as long as I did probably didn't help.

I'm getting ready to start working on it again. I'm picking up a 231 from a 98 XJ with 78k for $100 after work today. Next purchase will be rear long arms. I intend to do the 8.8 swap, 231 swap and long arms at the same time. I'll upload some pictures of the 231 when I get a chance.

The 231 was sort of a let down. It is in great shape however the tag has a build date in 93. I ended up buying it anyways to flip. I figured I could go wrong with a 78k mile transfer case for $100. Oh well, the search continues.

The blessing is this weekend? I thought I had already missed it. It's later than years past isn't it? Unfortunately I already have plans this weekend so I won't be able to make it. I guess there's always next year

Drove the jeep for the first time in a while yesterday and much to my surprise the interior is pretty much trashed. Evidently I have a leak( or leaks) somewhere and have moisture everywhere inside. It has rained here everyday for what seems like over 2 weeks. Everything is damp and I have mold growing on everything(carpet, seats, seat belt). There's maybe 1/8" of standing water in the front floor boards and under the rear seats. I don't know if I should try to save the carpet or just pull it out. I have a dehumidifier running inside of it right now. When I get home from work I'm going to go to town on it with a shop vac. The interior smells like a mix of the Congo and a truckstop restroom. I guess we'll see how good I can get it looking again.

Anybody have some tips or tricks on moisture/mold/ smell removal?

Dehumidifier running all day hardly made a dent. I used the shop vac for a while and was fighting a losing battle. The foam padding and carpet in the front and rear were completely saturated. I realized that I'd probably never get all the water and I didn't want it rusting out my floors so I decided to rip out all of the carpet. I got it all out except directly under the front seats. I went to take the seats out and snapped the first bolt I tried taking out.

Any suggestions for a floor liner?

Bed liner?
Only other thing I can think of would be husky liners, but without carpet, they'd probably slide around a lot.

Doh! Yes, bed liner was what I meant to say. Monstaliner seems to have pretty good reviews. Herculiner and rhinoliner seem to have mixed reviews. I saw this recommended in one thread http://www.armorthane.com/chemical-c...urea-coatings/

Just looking for something that will keep road noise and heat down while giving great coverage.

I think monstaliner has a jeepforum discount if you go with that.
Not sure what to recommend as I've never used any of them.
