Its probably a Les Schwab thing. They don't exactly hire the brightest (no offence to anyone that works there)

the rim could be 17 inches....its just a matter if the tire is on it or not...my old rims were 16" but they measured at 17"

I've seen 14in tires on 15in rims. They looked ok, but I'm just glad they weren't on my vehicle.

you don't measure the lip when determining wheel diameter. the flange will usually be 1" to 1.5" wider than the actual measure of the bead seat.

I know they aren't all the same, but I've had nothing but good, no GREAT experiences with them. They know me buy name, and a lot of the time, the payment plan is the only way I can afford some things.

I could see it done if the tire didn't have the steel reinforced bead, but I would NEVER trust them.

The person probably is measuring lip to lip.

Im sorry but that would be very difficult to do. I used to work for a tire shop and by accident grabbed the wrong size tire once, I believe it was a 15 inch rim and I grabbed a tire for a 14, there was no way that tire was stretching around that rim. There is a steel cable inside the bead and they don't give much.

i know that...i was thinking that the seller was measuring the diameter with the lip and then he was just looking at the tire size
