Diagnostic plug location?

Hello! I have a 93 Grand Cherokee 4X4 with the straight 6, can anyone tell me where the plug is located? I'm tired of counting flashes, & would like to use my scan tool. Thanks!

I have a OTC Nemisys, which is OBD 1 and 2. And the Chrysler OBD 1 cable, so if I can find thr plug, it should work fine.

That's where I first looked, but couldn't find anything near the left or right fenders.

Hey! Thanks for all the inputs! The picture was the clincher! Pictures are a mechanics best friend. This forum is awesome! I use a Ford forum once & awhile for my other vehicles, & it's pretty useless. I usually end-up answering my own questions there.

Yea, pictures are always very helpful. And it saves from writing 1000 words each pic.

Elwood - FYI, a 93 grand cherokee is a ZJ, not an XJ.

Thanks, I wasn't sure, I'll change that in my profile. You'd think after owning & doing a lot of work on both my Cherokee & Grand Cherokee, I'd know that, but I was never asked at the parts store, nor did I ever give it any thought.

1994 Jeep Cherokee SE

I have a 94 jeep SE. Had some engine work done and transmission replaced. Picked up my jeep today and when I turned on my headlights the radio immediately shut off but then cut right back on. Jeep ran just fine for about 5 miles. When I then stopped for gas. Turned off ignition, put gas in jeep and then proceeded to crank truck. Nothing happen. all lights and buzzers came on but it was like battery was dead. Someone then came over and gave me a jump. Jeep started with no problems. When I arrived home I turned off ignition then tried to restart truck, once again, nothing happen. As I was tinkering with it, I figured out when I hit the brakes, it made the inside light flicker. If I was to move the entire battery back and forth (with key switched on) all lights and dashboard lit up like all power was restored. But only for a split second. What could be wrong? I am thinking a wire is grounding out somewhere. But I have litterally traced each wire only to find the connector "85572" is NOT plugged into anything. Should this connector be left free or should it be plugged into something? I am completely baffled and starting to get discouraged. PLEASE HELP... Thank you in advance for any suggestions

In the future, start your own thread rather than commenting on a 5 year old thread not related to your problem. It sounds like you have a problem with one of the grounds somewhere, try checking all of them and make sure they're clean. There's probably threads on here covering where all the grounds are. Not sure about the connector thing.
