Blown headgasket.

Still driveable, but since my first oil change, (about a month and half ago), burned over 3.5 quarts of oil. Temperature seems to run a little hotter than normal, and I spit smoke TERRIBLE all the time. I have a crack in my upper radiator seal, so it leaks coolant once in awhile, so I'm not 100% sure that's the only spot I'm losing coolant from. I'm not replacing the radiator though because it would just make the head gasket even worse.
I remember getting a 3 month drivetrain warranty with the purchase, and I bought the Jeep May 28. I talked to the dealer, and he told me if he is correct about the warranty policy he gave me, it doesn't include head gaskets. But, *hopefully he isn't dicking me over*, he said if it doesn't include it, he'll sign me up for a new warranty policy with a different company, act as if I just bought the Jeep, wait a few days, and then go through them. I really hope they cover it, otherwise, does anyone know offhand what I would be spending on replacing the gasket? My guess is 2k, am I correct?

I would think head gasket is part of the driveline so why wouldn't it be included? Seems sketchy.

That's what I thought too. If it comes down to it, small claims court, HERE I COME!

Do you have a copy of the warranty? Should have come with one when you bought it. Maybe go get one if not and read through it.

All it says on the bill of sale is "Drivetrain 3 month warranty Cars.com" with DA as the signature of the seller.

Huh, well finding what company covers the warranty would be a good first step unless it is the place you bought it from.

I just looked up powertrain warranty and it seems to be loosely defined. Not really a clear cut answer on what is covered or they all vary depending on the company. Some are anything to do with engine and transmission while some are only parts that internally lubricated so a head gasket wouldn't fall into that category. I wouldn't just rely on what you are told, do some research and figure out exactly what the warranty policy covers.

Yeah I looked it up too. My friend pretty much argued with me telling me that a head gasket has to do with the motor, which is the main part of the drivetrain so it should be covered. and if it isn't, to fight it because it would be bullcrap.
I have to fax the seller a copy of the bill of sale tomorrow and hopefully we'll get somewhere.

Directly copied from cars.com, under the warranty information section -

"Powertrain: Don't be misled — a 10-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty doesn't promise a decade of free repairs for your car. It typically covers just the engine and transmission, along with any other moving parts that lead to the wheels, like the driveshaft and CV joints. Some automakers also bundle seat belts and airbags into their powertrain warranties. With a few exceptions, powertrain warranties don't cover regular maintenance like engine tune-ups and tire rotations."

It does say engine, which should include head gasket. I just have to wait to hear from the guy tomorrow.

If you want them to cover anything, STOP driving the Jeep. Now that you know the head gasket is toast, if you continue to rack up miles on it and then take it in with a blown gasket and a warped head or other damage, you're going to be SOL. Park the Jeep until you sort out the warranty issue.

I can't park it and wait it out. That could take almost 3 weeks. My fathers car is already down because of some issue, so that'd leave 2 cars down total in the house. Its not completely blown where it's overheating all the time, or constantly spitting out smoke. I exaggerated a little bit about the "terrible smoke all the time", it's just more often than it not happening at all.

How do you know it's blown? Did a shop tell you this? Probably want to get a tech to confirm it.
