I have 242 and no skipping. If you have 249 you may get it.

You drive a tj, we drive a zj. We have more power while you get more shower. We get the v8 while you get there too late. You have 2 doors well, we have 2 more. Ours costs a grand while yours has a price we cant stand.

Oh dang that sucks. Yea I'm thinking about going with the 40. But I saw a few videos of fm super 10 and that sounds sooo good. But I think I would get over the 10 in a couple weeks if I got it

I use ft on bad rd cond. Not for dd. Off rd its fine too.

Just get u joints and be done. Also if a cv boot rips and dirt or mud gets in it, its finished. Not on a u joint. Thats why wrabglers and xjs use them just better on the trails. IMO.

Replaced my cv axle today. I was thinking about going the u joint route but autozone has the whole axle shaft for $53 with a lifetime warranty. Autozone guy said if ANYTHING happens just bring it back and they will replace it. I was stoked when I heard that

Install went well. That 36mm hub nut was a pitb!! But some pb blaster overnight and a breaker bar with a cheater pole on it got the job done

Here's some pics

I'm going to replace my drivers side too because it has a little ticking along with a slightly torn boot. For $53 and lifetime warranty you can't go wrong

You should just tell them to give you the next set of axles now...

And you own a jeep, invest in an air compressor and impact wrench, makes everything sooo easy

I'll see how these cv's hold up. From what I've read from some pretty veteran JF members is that when cv joints go out its usually because they already have well over 100k on them. So if these even last 20k I'd be happy with it. If not, then yea I'll switch over to u joints. One reason I kept the cv's was cause I also read that u joints and a 249 don't go well. And I'm not quite ready for a 242 swap yet.

And yea, one of these days I'll throw down the $$ for a good air compressor & impact. Just been avoiding it I guess. My dad pretty much has no collection of tools so everything I need I have to buy
