sorry for the long post but here it goes anyway:
It was a freaking mission. First I took my dad's Toyota. the ignition broke while I was leaving the bank.
So after waiting forever for a tow. I went home and got my jeep, and borrowed my friends trailer to pick them up
About an hour and a half later I got to his house. Super nice guy. A pain in the butt loading them in the trailer with just us 2. But we got it done by working smart, and hard.
Then on the way back, about 30 min away from home one of the trailers tires tread blew up. He had a spare tire but no jack. BTW I've used all my AAA service calls, thankfully they reset next month. And of course the one time I don't have a million tools in my jeep.. This happens. Luckily I was able to limp off of the freeway without bending the wheel because it was still holding some air. This was in Ontario. And finally after about an hour or 2 of asking people I finally came across a guy that had a jack and the right size tire wrench at the gas station. He was in a rush so he offered to let me have both. A really nice guy.. Saved my day.. If that's possible.
I don't have any pics of the axles right now. But I'll take some tomorrow when I clear out the trailer and make room for them in the garage.
So far, according to the CL ad they are front and rear Dana 60's from a 2001 Ford F350.
4.10 gears. A factory locker in the rear, and disk brakes all around.
The guy I bought them from collects scouts. He had 5 but right now he's down to 3 as he has too many projects going on right now, which besides his scouts, include building a new roof on his carport, putting a corvette engine in his 60-something Chevy, building a custom trailer, and a few others I forgot. He's retired, lives in the middle of no where with his family and is just building stuff. Dudes living my dream. Heres 2 of his scouts
