Dang, thanks man. Good find. You find all the good stuff on CL. I've been looking for a set like that for a while. I talked to the guy and I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow

sorry for the long post but here it goes anyway:

It was a freaking mission. First I took my dad's Toyota. the ignition broke while I was leaving the bank.

So after waiting forever for a tow. I went home and got my jeep, and borrowed my friends trailer to pick them up

About an hour and a half later I got to his house. Super nice guy. A pain in the butt loading them in the trailer with just us 2. But we got it done by working smart, and hard.

Then on the way back, about 30 min away from home one of the trailers tires tread blew up. He had a spare tire but no jack. BTW I've used all my AAA service calls, thankfully they reset next month. And of course the one time I don't have a million tools in my jeep.. This happens. Luckily I was able to limp off of the freeway without bending the wheel because it was still holding some air. This was in Ontario. And finally after about an hour or 2 of asking people I finally came across a guy that had a jack and the right size tire wrench at the gas station. He was in a rush so he offered to let me have both. A really nice guy.. Saved my day.. If that's possible.

I don't have any pics of the axles right now. But I'll take some tomorrow when I clear out the trailer and make room for them in the garage.
So far, according to the CL ad they are front and rear Dana 60's from a 2001 Ford F350.
4.10 gears. A factory locker in the rear, and disk brakes all around.

The guy I bought them from collects scouts. He had 5 but right now he's down to 3 as he has too many projects going on right now, which besides his scouts, include building a new roof on his carport, putting a corvette engine in his 60-something Chevy, building a custom trailer, and a few others I forgot. He's retired, lives in the middle of no where with his family and is just building stuff. Dudes living my dream. Heres 2 of his scouts

I wish it was that easy
Besides frame and axle brackets,

I still need:
-Long arms front and rear
-Pretty much a whole suspension setup for 7 inches
-Steering
-Driveshafts front and rear
-Wheels
-Tires

And then after I get all that on I want to
-regear to 5.13
-lockers front and rear
-Build front and rear bumpers with winch
-Hybrid inner/exo cage
-Recentered H1 wheels (legal CA inner/outter beadlocks)
-Either flat belly or skid everything
-Do the famous "Roll On" paint job

I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting and I'm sure I'll always find something to add lol

quite the adventure.

why are you gearing so low? are you planning on 38s?

ill bet the 2001 60s are pretty rust free and clean!

I just realized I put 5.38 I meant to put 5.13. My mistake

I'm planning on 37's. And that way if I ever go 40's (which I doubt I will) I won't have to regear

And unfortunately they are a little rusty.. They've been sitting for about a year so just a little surface rust nothing major

After some research. It turns out I actually have a sterling 10.50 rear and either a dana 50 or 60 front. Bother are super strong tho. So I'm fine with that

Heres a picture:

Lol wow not even. That dude is straight up lying. HE almost swiped them from me. I told the guy the night before that I'm most likely come in the morning but I'll call him back soon to confirm. In that meantime that other guy made an appointment with the old guy who owned the axles. He gave him priority. And that guy was supposed to show up at 9 in the morning and never did. The owner of the axles called me around 10 and said he flaked and to come get them. And so I left and got them. I kinda wanna make an account on my jeep rocks just to tell him straight.. Because that sucks. The owner of the axles was a rely nice old guy and he told me he doesn't pull off sketchy stuff like that. So that's why he waited till he flaked to let me get them

Made a LED whip out of some waterproof flexible LED's I bought off ebay.
It's really easy. Just wrap the LED strip around your CB antenna and then use a clear 3/4 inch heat shrink tube around that to seal it in. Then wire it up and you're good to go.

This thing is BRIGHT. The pictures just don't do it justice. It changes to any color and has a flashing and fading effect through the different colors. Cost me less than half of the ones you can buy, and those are just one solid color

It comes with a 4 pin connector to connect the LED strip to the wiring harness. I cut that off and soldered it straight instead. I also gave it some more length so I can mount the control box & IR sensor next to the window.
