I will be doing a taurus fan swap here soon to help with my cooling issues. its pretty straight forward and the taurus fans are cheap. it will cool a lot better than the hydro we have. if you decide to go that route, let me know

thanks for the link marc. Thats nice, I've been lookin at his wj since before i bought my own thats a sweet build. Did he say how he patched the holes in his roof? I would like to do basically the same but without running tube down the front window pillars and keeping room for my rear seats for my kids.

Right now he just has some sealing tape cover the holes, but he has plans to weld sheet metal up.

Yea i might do that, I gotta go to the jy and find a steering box i might pull a taurus fan while im there. I have a real nice tranny cooler with a fan pulled from a CAT, its huge, i just gotta find a place to mount it. That would keep hot tranny fluid from warming up my radiator too.

i found time to make a few bends with my harbor freight pipe kinker for my front bumper today. I like the simplicity of pancakes front bumper but i need a winch mount so I'm gonna try to make it small, simple and winch ready. Any ideas? How can I eliminate the front frame area behind the bumper over the tire without sacrificing its strength?

You mean the sheetmetal crossmember? Just cut it off, use suitable sized box steel to tuck inside the front horns (ZJs are a snug fit with 2" x 4", I'd imagine WJs would be the same?) and do a couple rosette welds through the fropnt horns to tie it in. Then add the bumper tubes and some 1/4" plate to reconnect the front horns and act as a winch plate. It'll be much stronger than stock. IMO you don't need a bolt-on front bumper at this point anymore, it's better to fab something that reinforces the front uniframe area

Agitated pancake has some pretty damn good ideas on his WJ.. been following his build thread on Pirate for quite a while I've got some pictures on my ZJ build thread starting from page one, look at 'em if you like.. The front area mods made the Jeep a lot more solid compared to the sheetmetal crap from the factory, and isn't even too heavy

Another thing i wanna get goin is an interior roll cage, has anyone one here done that in there wj, i would like to see detailed pics esp. of the tie in points.
For roll cage you can also check out T&J Performance Jeepspeed WJ...a simple google should produce plenty results.

Also, there where some pics of another WJ build of a Jeeper .....dont know his name...may he rest in peace....that built an exocage... hus originally started on Pirata4x4 but some links have been posted here (JF) also...

I'd also look into cutting out the lower radiator support. You will get a ton of clearance.

You need a zj 5.2 or 5.9 radiator and you'll get rid of the a/c condenser. The inner frame rail needs to be notched cuz the zj radiator is wider than that of a wj.

Heres the basic mock up. I realized i suck at notching at angles with a grinder. Im gonna do some plating with dimple dies i think, remove the corners from the body, and rad protection and reinforce to the body/frame. It fits my jumbo 8274 perfectly. I have a lot of work to do on it still but this is the idea. Let me know what you think, how i could improve it, whatever.
