yea i've been learning along the way with mine, for the wrangler and cherokee guys for example, and 8.8 swap from an explorer is dang near bolt on, not so much for the wj, alot more has to be home built for these things

do you drive that thing to the trails or tow it? hows it handle on the road?

Yea i drive it to every trail. Its sorta my dd but i work about 3 blocks away. It handles good as long as i keep up on the maintenance. It doesn't take much for things to get off, bad ball joints, bad hiem joints, bad johnny joints ect. I know almost immediately if something is loose or broken.

i know mine even with just a 3" lift, wanders around a little, what i'd like to do with it in the future is go with around 7-8" of lift on d60s, but without having a truck to pull it i still want it to be road worthy

That would be very possible. Hydro assist helps with bump steer, and a good sway bar helps when you get that high of a lift. I like being drivable, i would hate to have to load up my trailer every time i go wheeling.

I definitely agree with that statement! I have put a ton of work into keeping my WJ completely streetable, no matter how haggard and beat up it looks. Being able to just hop in and go makes wheeling more enjoyable and less of a chore than trailering. I wouldn't mind doing the Ultimate Adventure someday

You should do it that would be awesome. I have a friend who's gonna try and get on the UA and wants me to co-drive. I think it would be a blast as long as it's his rig getting beat on and not mine haha.

All good points Dillon and badass WJ on 37's you have. But they have a lot going for them as well. My favorite (other than The V8) is when I go wheeling I'm the only WJ in the group and just as capable as the XJ and wranglers for the most part. I'm not building a dedicated rock jeep out of my WJ but more of an expedition style rig. Guess I just love the look of the WJ and wish more people did as well.

I wasnt knocking them, personally I like the extra room, more comfort, and ability to still cruise 70 on the highway easily if I want to (IE V8).

Haha, Thanks!

I went out to a friends to help him with his currier/chevy/dodge project he's building a custom frame for it now. Also did some minor stuff to the wj. Then everyone who had a running rig played on our training grounds. Its just a small pile of big rocks right now but we plan on adding to it over time. Its also fun because the shop is 100ft away and so is the beer fridge.
