Yep, I know alot of jeepers but only 2 of them actually use there jeeps, everybody else i wheel with are budget wheelers that have had the same rig for 10-20 years and have slowly built them up with mostly junkyard parts so they are unique.

Heres a pic of my boy, he had a blast.

Got started on a skid plate. I need it done in less than 2 weeks to go to the rubicon and i get maybe an hour to 30min a few times a week to work on stuff. Im using 3/16 steel to hopefully save on weight. I will do a few things to add some strength to the center section and theres about an inch gap between the skid and the t-case. I still need to bend the sides, tap some holes, put a bend on the rear, add some gussets to the bends and dimple die the center for strength. But i drilled holes and mocked it up for measuring today.

im not sure what to use for bolts on the sides, any ideas would be welcome.

Got some welding in. I use the hobart 140 handler on most projects but after about 30min of use it gets hot and starts welding real crappy so i have to stop and go a lot.
But its all welded and ready for grinding and paint.

I dont see the bolts being a problem. Im not going to protect mine, as I figure that Ill be in one hell of a jam if rocks get that tight up in there. Plus its not that hard to grind the remainder of a bolt head off, once you drop the skid you could just put vice grips on the shank to remove the rest of the bolt. Or if your really worried you could use something like these http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/...8-_p_1684.html but they arent cheap. Although you could use them on every other bolt like they show in the pics.

True. I will run it at the con like this and maybe go to my friends testing grounds and try to rub some rocks on it and see what happens. Thanks for the link, those are actually a really good idea i may look into them esp for the t-case mount bolts, those are probably my biggest worry now.

Didnt notice your's ties into the crossmember bolts. That would definitely be the place to shear bolt heads.
