I think a full exo cage looks too big on wj's. An interior cage would be more sleek and you'd be able to run harness bars. Greg's hybrid cage has some really nice interior work. But, with me being 6'5", all the room inside the better. Ha.

marc, i think your right interior or hybrid would be best. Im only 5'10 so im not super concerned about interior room. I also want to find a way to piece it together and not do it all at once because i use my jeep most days. i know i will have to pull my interior out, that sucks. I think i will fab as much as i can outside of the jeep. I wish we had removable tops now.

One advantage to first gen 4runners. Hahah.

I'll probably start with an A and B-pillar cage. To protect me and my passenger. With a harness bar and suspension seats.

I got a chance to start some half doors. I really need better visibility and like what gcjeeping did with his so heres the start of my version. I would like to do padded arm rest and cup holders. I used pop rivets to put on an inner skin/panel, and i still need to figure out what i wanna do for speakers. I might make the arm rest part removable or hinged so i can use the inside of the door for storage.[/URL

Thanks! This project can be done without a welder, and I believe it could look really good with less clean up. Just use pop rivets and/or sheet metal screws.

doors look sweet! thats awesome that you found the same color doors. I've been looking for a good deal on doors to do the same things but no luck.
oh well, I don't need them any more since ill only have a stock WJ haha.
I plan on having a ZJ for a DD after mine sells.. maybe ZJ doors will be easier to find haha.

Thanks! I know, my jy never has wj's and it got this one and only one probably forever and it just happened to be my color. One door is a little beat but I will probably have more damage on them by the end of the summer anyway. We have endless zj's in the junk yard it always pisses me off that there not wj's.

Ive had a bad knock when i turn, stop or flex the suspension, for a while now. I figured it was a bad creeper joint. So i finally climbed under and looked and found 2 joints come apart at the snap ring. So i had to pull them out, both were upper CA joints. Lucky it was only 111 degrees out. Now i can safely drive to work tonight

I picked up a small fan from a toyota at the junk yard but after putting it up to the jeep I realized i would have to make alot of changes to my front clip and hood latch and power steering cooler lines. So i took it back to the junk yard to see if i could find a better fan. And i did, its out of a trooper i think, about 10x10x2.5 single speed with lots of power. I installed it last night and wired it this morning before it got too hot. I had to modify the front clip just a little bit. And i wired it to a switch in the cab. Time to go try and over heat[/URL

Doors are looking awesome man! Gotta love this NorCal heat, I haven't been able to do anything to mine cause of it, looking at 114* today, yuck. There are two wj's at Pick n Pull here in Redding right now, a week ago they were still complete, anything you want me to keep an eye out for?

I need some more fan power.

My fan clutch is not doing well, and I would like an e fan. I don't like when my temp gauge hits 210.

I may have to hit the junk yard too.

Thanks Macbeth! I hate the heat, it makes it hard to get anything done outside of the house. There's nothing I need at the moment but I appreciate the offer.

Marc I have a Taurus fan I didn't use, you can have it if you wanna drive to oroville. Is there a fast route from grass valley to LaPort? Cause I will be camping in that area on the 12th, and could bring it with me. On cold days my temp stays a little lower than 210, on hot days it gets up to 220 with the ac on full power. I did about 30 min of freeway driving today and kept the temp around 211 with the ac turned up and 105 out. I'm not sure if that's good or bad for a wj but next I'm adding some hood louvers to get the hot air flowing out of the engine bay.
