Real axle, rear axle, knuckles pardon my ignorance. Ignore my last post, major brain fart.
Post made more cents when I read it the second time

Really need and would like to upgrade, but lacking in the resources and cash.

Still hunting axles, so far my two best options are both stock replacements. One is a open axle about 20 min away, asking $300 prob could get it for $250.
The second is a variloc and its about 1.5hrs away and have them talked down from $450 to $300.
I kinda want the variloc, but not sure about the haul.
Hoping to have a new axle by at least the end of next week, hopefully sooner.

Quick test run with new tires yesterday, I'm liking the duratracs so far.
Rear bump stops are about perfect, need to add about 1.5in to the front and a bit more trimming.

Sway bars connected in first pic, lifted rear tire a bit. Hill is steeper than it looks too.

All I have for now. Hoping to have an axle this week

That takes talent to stuff a dana 30 in the back of a wj. Are you going to have it ready for hidden falls in april?

Getting the axle in was easy with a fork lift. Not sure how I'm going to get it out yet though.
And not sure what I'm going to do with another set of stock control arms and track bar.
Hope to have the swap done in a week or two.
Working hard to set up plains for hidden falls.

Now time to clean it up a bit and get ready for install.
Any recommendations on a durable paint? I assume the salvage yard was the ones that sprayed it with red and yellow paint, not sure why.

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, been busy with work and the kiddo.
Here's a few pics of what's new.

Headlights

Axle swap

Roof rack

Kolak exhaust (to be installed Monday)

That's everything worth mentioning that I can think of.
Working on getting her all ready for a road trip to Colorado here in a few weeks. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing.

Hey just read almost every single page of your build haha. I like your dub, good taste. I do have a question, can you explain all the trimming you did to fit the 285/70's? Just curious as I am getting the same lift, and debating between your new and old size tires.

That's allot of bs to read through
Thanks, It's been a fun build.
If your going with the 4" I'd stick with the 265s and you will want some wheel spacers and extended bumpstops to be clear of all rubbing. Honestly the only trimming I've done is on the front bumper, mabe 1-1.5" out of the lowest edge for turning.
With the 285s I cheated and used my bb with the 4" springs and extended the front bumpstops again and I do have some rubbing offroad, nothing to severe yet.

Alright thank you! That's good to know, cause I'm not sure if I could trim 'er just yet lol, she's too new to me, and my wife would probably kill me.

And not too much BS in your thread at all, with all the different issues you seem to have had, there is a lot of troubleshooting info here,
