regarding the skid: you might run into some issues with bolts not fitting depending on which version of the cross member you have. might want to call up jason and see what he has to say about what version you have, didnt work on mine.

hope that was worded clearly enough.

Some had welded nuts, some had bolts going through into the subframe outers, with loose nuts instead of welded ones.

If you have welded nuts, you can do two things.
-What I did, was took two bolts and put them butt to butt, and welded them. This created a stud for the skid, and then I put nuts on those studs.

-The other option is to support the subframe, take out the bolts going through, hold the skid in place and put slightly longer bolts through, making the skid end to end with the subframe.

i just looked and i do have the version with the welded nuts on the end pieces.

why cant it be put end to end with the subframe to begin with? why does it need the spacer in between

also.. why cant the longer bolt be put in from the skid side? so it goes Bolt > Skid > Nut > X-Member > Nut

Matt, it can be put end to end as far as I am concerned. Everytime I have installed one however i made studs for it.

And as far as putting a longer bolt in, thats what I would suggest for you if you do not want to build studs, you should be able to get the bolt in through the skid side, and thread into the welded nut.

Give me a call if you have any questions, ya got my number.

On my cross member on the transmission mount there is a piece that sticks out further than where the bolts are at so I'm assuming the nuts ate a spacer so that you don't have a gap that would result from flush mounting it or trying to torque the 2 together that i doubt would happen because you would have to bend one of the 2

why not just put in a longer bolt from the skid side? use a spacer between the skid and the crossmember and the bolt threads into the welded on nut like normal

Hopefully you are doing a motor swap. My dad had one when he was in college and he said his had no power and couldn't climb hills and that was in central California. They also get pushed around the road by wind and semis.

But it looks sweet and should be fun.
