I have to say, that's pretty amazing fabrication. Makes me wish I could do stuff like that.

How do you plan on attaching the armor to the body? I was thinking later on doing something like this and rivets seem to the best solution.

What's keeping the tube from bending into the fender and destroying it? Will it tie into anything?

Yep. Peel old wood grain off, get armor to cover entire side of Jeep, cover the plate with wood, and then clean up what isn't covered.

im going to be installing a backing plate to the inside of the quarter panel and using counter sunk bolts on the outside ( 8 of them ). the backing plate will tapped for the bolts and probably JB welded or somethin to the inside of the quarter panel... this way if i ever want to take the panels off i dont need to take off the interior panel to do so

nothing really... the fenders are trimmed so much that i can bend them in with my hand... im not worried about the tube bending into the fenders...if it does, it will still do less damage than if i didnt have the tube

in the picture it is just leaning against the fender since it isnt welded on yet... when it is welded on there will be about an inch or 2 gap between the fender and the top of the tube... this will allow a little play

yeah the tube is going to be removable that way if i ever need to take off my bumper or sliders i will be able to do so..

Ballistic Fab has these neat weld on tube adapters that i will be using.. they go on the inside of the tube and are welded to either side and makes it so you can disconnect them
