Ok so after the accident with the lady backing into me as i was driving past her at the grocery storer i thought id make myself a little build thread since the Jeep is undergoing some pretty big changes.

- Lights have been moved to roof rack
- Door Cladding is being covered with black bedliner
- back bumper is being covered with black bedliner
- Grill will be painted black
- Hanson Winch Guard Front Bumper is going on (black)
- new fender and headlight ( due to accident)
- Hood is being repainted 2 tone

i have the new fender, headlight, corner light, and turn signal sitting in my room waiting.
i also have a broken a header panel that arrived broken in half...the ebay company has told me that a new one is being sent out so hopefully that will all work out and i wont have to open a dispute with paypal

the hood is in the process of being sanded down for paint right now. I am doing all of the work myself so it is pretty time consuming.
i got the hood halfway done and then had to go to work so i threw some primer over the bare metal. tomorrow morning ill finish sanding the rest and start prepping it for paint.

this is a really really quick photoshop of the hood but it gives you a general idea of how the hood will be painted
The Grey Area Will Be Black and the green area will be repainted the same green
In this picture you can see the chipped up fading paint which is the reason im repainting

I guess you get what you pay for. I am assuming it is an aftermarket header. Not telling you what to do, but in my experience those aftermarket headers for the Grands do not fit for ****. By an OE (Chrysler) and you will be much happier.

if it fits like crap when they send me out the replacement then ill just toss it and get myself an OE.


hood is fully sanded ( that was a pain) and in primer. tomorrow morning im gonna wetsand it and start the painting.

im holding off on putting the new headlight and fender on till i get that new header panel

i dont have the Hanson bumper yet. there was a 4 week wait from the time i ordered so i should have it in a couple weeks

thats ok though cause it will give me time to get everything else finished before i get the bumper

UPDATE

i did the side cladding and rocker panels in Herculiner today. Im gonna do the rear bumper this weekend

Looks good Matt - word of warning, depending on how you prepped, that herc on the cladding may chip and peel like mad. Be prepared for it.

i prepped by sanding down the cladding with 60 grit sandpaper then washing it off with only water and wiping it off with a tack cloth
