Helped a coworker out installing a 4" lift on a '85 CJ7. With 3/4" Currie shackles, the lift measured just over 6". Hopefully the springs settle soon so it doesn't look too goofy with my old 33" TSL's. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

Stock springs with 31-10.5

Rear completed!

Chris hard a work removing his old spring bushings

Me supervising, suprisingly no beer in my hand?

Job done... 14 hours later...

Those MTR's look tiny. Is he going to run your old Swampers?

That's the plan. He will be ready for a local shake-down run soon.

I paid alot more than $2k for that rust-free CJ7! Then again, this was in the rust belt (Kansas)...

I owe Chris big for the help, this project would have taken forever without some of his tools (and 6'4" frame...).

Isn't it amazing what 1.5-2" on the meats will do? I'll run those TSLs for a month or so while I shop for a nice set of used 35s; think I'm gonna add a 1" BL, 1" MML and TJ Flares to get rid of the TC drop... we'll see how the 4" BDS kit settles though.

For future reference, lifting a stock CJ7 is at least a 6-beer job. Plan accordingly.

Yeah I hear ya, I looked at at least 6 and they were all rust cancer cases. This one had a rust free frame and mild body rust but had a lot of mechanical problems... just look for a garage queens... estate sales and bank repossessions are good too.

Had to fix the common driver's side exhaust manifold bolt failure.

Manifold removed

A shot of the manifold after having it machined flat again

It is nice to have a 'quiet' Jeep again

Welcome to the club! I think the worst part about that is justifying having to pay $6 or whatever for a bolt that will eventually fail again, haha
