Took the family to American Fork Canyon to tour Timpanogos Cave and get the Jeep dirty. I was really impressed with the cave tour, much better than ones I have been on in IN, TN or KY. Took the Jeep to Forest Lake after the tour. It was a rather easy trail and I am impressed with the new tires offroad.

Headed to Moab to meet a few UJC members. This was my first time on Hell's Revenge and it was a lot of fun. Well known obstacles and enough steps/drops so you don't get bored.

Headed down the first fin.

Entering the depths of hell...

And made a smooth exit with excellent spotting from GraKee99

Went through the Car Wash...

And went up Tip Over Challenge...

While we were out that way, I gave Potato Salad a try

But ended up needing a tug at the top. I'll get it next time.

Looks like it was an awesome trip. I love the variety of terrain you got out there.

Really nice WJ. I appreciate how you've focused more on the lift, axles, and tires, and less on bumpers and other esthetic modifications.

Thanks Trevor! I can't bring myself around to pay for a bumper or tire carrier. I will eventually make them, but front axle work/locker will come first.

Friend is giving me a set of old 33-12.50's and i'm looking to lift mine 4 inches as well, what b.s should i go with and how much will i have to trim man? I don't really wheel hardcore, just simple stuff. I just want my jeep to look really mean like yours and i want to be able to put my street tires (245/75's) on and it not look retarded cause it's too high (6 inches-up)

It depends what diameter rim you plan on. I have 15x8's soft 8's with 4" backspacing and ran 33x12.5 TSL's with moderate trimming on the front fenders and bumper only. If I didn't disconnect the sway bar offroad, I could have got away with only trimming the front bumper.

There is a pic a few pages back of mine trimmed front and rear at 6" with my 245/75R16 KM's. They look just a little small.

WJ looks great I just read through all 16 pages. AF canyon looks like fun I have always wanted to run that trail. I have seen a few wheeling videos from there. Can't wait to see what you have up next for the WJ!!

Got back from another Moab trip over Thanksgiving. Had a great time with 85IrocZ-28 and plrbear. Ran Fin's and Things and some trails in Arches NP on Friday and Golden Spike on Saturday.

I love how you wheel, how often you get out on these trips, and how beautiful the area is. The pic up top of this page is amazing. I love the colour changing leaves. Is that your wife there with that sign? It amuses me. So how'd the impassible sand go?

Yes, it snows in Texas.

Oh when life decides to let up a little, I suppose. I really never expected it to be like this. I'm working 50 hours or so a week, and spend a good deal of time trying to figure out my Jeep's issues when not at work. Then I have family here I try to spend a little time with. Realistically, I've been financially hit over the previous years by various things I could not foresee or prevent. So I've been trying to recoup and recover. So why the heck am I building up my Jeep? Well, every time something needs replaced, I upgrade. lol Hardly practical, but it makes life a little more bearable. I'd probably be better off going with the cheap solutions though.

Right now, the Jeep has more than a handful of issues that need fixed. I'm on the edge of driving it off a cliff and collecting insurance. Kidding, just kidding! But it makes me want to. I'd take a 2012 JK Rubicon any day over this old ZJ though. It's got too many issues, and I can't afford to sell it and move on as I have too much money in it now. Nor can I get into some other older, used vehicle with a lot of miles on it. Just to start over again.

So I guess what I'm getting to is that A)my job negates my ever going anywhere due to how busy we are and that there is no redundancy so no one can cover for my absence, B)I have so many things that need fixed on the Jeep before I can go on any long road trips, and C)I can't afford to take the time off even if I could get it off, nor the cost of driving so far.

So it's a conundrum. Want vs need. I suppose I like eating too much. Speaking of, I've done entirely too much of it since Thanksgiving. I think I've gained 10 pounds. Ah well. Good food. It's all worth it.

Yes, it snows in Texas.
