Here's the dirt removed from the fuel tank skid.

Here's the finished product for all you doubters

And my temporary turndown until I figure out what I want to do with the exhaust

That looks good! You gained a TON of clearance. I also would like to know what you did with your charcoal canister.

That is similar to what I did. I like his way better though, I might have to change mine.

Back on the road today. I have to add another hanger for the exhaust, it now contacts a skidplate on any little bump. The 6" lift looks a lot bigger when you can see the entire rear differential and aluminum spacer!

Put another hanger after the cat and removed the muffler TOMattO style! Ordered a small thru-style muffler just to keep it legal. Next up, 35's, 4.56 gears, front locker, 242HD, bumpers, winch, and the list goes on and on and on....

What did you do to enclose the interior, did you re-use the floor of your spare tire well?

I used the floor of the spare well. First I cut a 5.5" ring out of the vertical section of the spare well. Then I sectioned both the spare well floor and around the hole in the Jeep. Finally I used about a dozen self tapping screws and some silicone to seal things up.

I also sprayed rubber undercoating on the top and bottom of the repair to help prevent rust.

Nice! I am waiting to hear back from BadSyndicate, but may end up just doing this without his kit if he doesn't get back to me soon. How much welding did it take to peice the skid back together?

I cut off the skid flanges, bolted them back to the skid plate and sandwiched it back under the trailer hitch in the original place. I welder is on my list of things to aquire, so the skid will probably be welded at a later date. Probably after it is severely damaged by a trail obstacle sometime in the future.

Clamped on my new temp-anent (or is it perm-orary) glass pack on today. There is not much reduction in sound, but the drone is gone. My '93 Ford IDI with full exhaust is louder than the WJ with a turndown on the cat.

$26 and change with shipping from Summit.

And a few driveway shots. I have a few more goodies coming this weekend and then nothing is keeping me from 35's, other than sticker shock.
