well i wouldnt have the balls to rip into my jeep like u did. Nice! and ZJones thanks, i have no clue how to post threads or pics or anything yet, i am far from tech savvy. Also how long do parts from KOR usually take to get to your door. I checked my bank statement and the payment was made but i haven't got an email sayin my light bar was shipped yet. I called during business hrs and got the voice mail and havent heard back, im goin on 2 weeks now...gettin a bit worried |

Taurus Fan Install!
OK I do not have pics of the entire install but I have enough to hopefully show you what I did.
When I bought my jeep the stock fan shroud was demolished which had allowed the Factory elec. fan to lean back into the mech. fan cutting all the wires and shorting it out rendering it useless. So I went to Pick and Pull which was littered with about 100 ford Taurus's searched and eventualy found one that was almost new! (probably replaced it in the search to find what was ultimately its demise) I removed the old electric fan and what was left of the shroud, removed the clutch fan and started in I purchased some galvanized J metal from Home Depot that measured 4"x2"x3/8" ![]() the fan |

I fab'd up a shroud that covered the entire back of the radiator. At the bottom I installed two 1/4"x 1" bolts that poke into holes I drilled in the bottom radiator support with rubber grommets. They just slide in and it screws to the top flange of the radiator.
![]() Then I trimed the shroud to fit the Taurus fan shroud and bolted it up. I used alumitape to fill the gap left on the one side due to the molding of the fans plastic shroud not being flat (if you do it you'll see) ![]() |

Awesome build man, I just picked up a 99 WJ and I'm pretty much a noob. That bedliner stuff you got on the cladding looks fantastic btw I might have to do that! Maybe I missed it what is it called? Anyways looks great keep up the great work!

I took the wiring harness all the way past the ford circuit breakers when i pulled the fan from the donor.
I cut the pigtail from the Taurus fan and the one from the old WJ electric fan and spliced them together. These wires are Black (ground) Yellow (low speed) Green (high speed) I original hooked them up with shielded connectors so I could play with fan speed if necessary. ![]() |

I have now soldered the wires and shrink wrapped them due to the massive amp draw that the Taurus fan has on start-up cooking the crimp on connectors.
![]() The factory PCM controls everything for now without issue. I have been running like this since May without issue except for changing to the high speed circuit on the trip to Moab GSW and the additions of 37" tires, 85 MPH driving and 90deg. heat with the AC on ![]() ![]() ![]() |

This whole conversion took me about an hour and cost a whopping $38 for the fan and $3.95+tax for the Galv. and it cools so whell it only runs for 30sec. to a min. then shuts off. The PCM turns it on for the AC and on a 90Deg. day you can put you hand on the radiator it pulls so much air it doesn't ever get to hot to touch.
I will eventually convert it to the DC Controls unit so I can have the soft start and wire in a switch for water crossing |

Awesome looking build! I'll have to say that is one of the cleanest gas tank lifts I've ever seen. If I had another place to put my spare, I would cut my tire well up tomorrow the way you did. Looks great!
