I would go with the 270/50 valving, it will be a good ride not stiff not to soft.. unless you want to go with the 298/36 because of your bumper..but i think it will be a little to stiff with that valving on lowis.

14" is a lot of travel...which you can do but at the expense of compression. I run 12" in the front/rear and to protect the shocks I am running 6" of bump stop.

Very true... but since he is going to be at 7" he will most likely have about 4.5 - 5 of up travel with the 14's... if thats not enough well he can go with the 11.94 travel but he will max out the shock easy.

You can always hold off on ordering the shocks for now and install the 7" springs first then measure how long you will need the shocks.

im worried that my shocks arent going to be sufficient. i wont know untill i get everything up and see how long they are.

The upper shock mount conversions came in today, faster than I expected. I'm guessing the shocks will be here soon too.

Pretty beefy.

The drivers side is a real pain. You'll have to undo the brake lines from the MS to get to the nut. It's a big *** nut too. LOL
