If you had some other color I'd say paint it, but I like your blacked out look too much.

I'm thinking about Line X or Raptor Liner in Desert Tan. Close to this TJ but the shade is different for Desert Tan. This picture is of the whole thing done in Line X. I can only think of positives if I did this, no more AZ pinstriping from all the bushes, it wouldn't be as hot in the summer, easier to keep clean because all the dust around here would blend in.

How about:
-Cost
-Your paint is already in good shape
-Not going to be easy to keep clean if its textured

The Raptor Liner is fairly inexpensive, not quite sure about the line x. My current paint may look ok from the pictures but when you see it in person it's not in good shape at all. From what I've read nothing sticks to Raptor Liner (the audi guy tried to put tape and stickers on it and they wouldn't stick) you can hit it with a hammer and it won't dent, perfect for a jeep that goes offroad.

I want to do this SO bad. I want to use Durabak blue for the entire body, then paint my bumpers and sliders RE grey, or rustoleum silver hammered. The door jams on the inside will still be silver, and under the hood and what not, but the blue/silver together would look so good.

I say do it Brian. Black and Tan would look great!

Her is a good pic of what the Durabak looks like

To see your black ZJ become tan would be a strange, sad twist. However, life is all about change, and it's really your Jeep. Do what you want with it. That's all that matters. If we listened to what others thought about everything, we'd not even have Jeeps. We are ruining the planet and all, right? Gas guzzlers. LOL But go ahead if you like it. I do prefer the black, but I know how paint can look good from far away. Mine is the same. Yet I can see all the nicks and scratches from my 'fun' times when I get up close. Some were not so much fun. Anyway, make your Jeep what you want.

I wouldn't rattle can it. I am doing this to my CJ and it looks ok, but your rig is to nice to do this do. You will regret doing it.

i bet you could get a good enough paint rig for a couple hundred on cgraigslist then resell it on there when youre dont painting your jeep. i really like the desert tan if you can pull it off. but i also see lots of room for failure. and i for one am not a fan of textured bedliner or any of that. if you do it i vote straight paint.
