Build Thread: Ezflip
On my third WJ now. Started with a blue 2000 4.slo, traded it in on the white 2002 in the pic below, then sold that to get a car (horrible horrible decision) then sold the car and picked up my current Overland. Skip to the bottom of the first post for a link to the start of the Overland build.

Edit again: Sold the White Jeep and picked up an 02 Overland Click Here to skip to the first post for Jeep #3

cool. looks good, get some tires and rims

I could be wrong, but I think that spacers are supposed to go on the top of the spring (your rear is on the bottom)

Nah, the rear is 'sposed to be on the bottem.

MACHJGC 08-09-2009 02:01 PM

I beg to differ, but I actually had the RE spacer kit and the instructions specifically said to install on top with the radius of the spacer facing down.

:nono: Nah, the instructions specifically stated the front goes on top and the rear goes on the bottom. Plus it was the only logical place for it once I had the springs out.

The tires I have were brand new when I bought it. I started my college career a little late so, I am 27 but a full time college student on a tight budget. Once these tires are shot, I will be looking at cragers and bigger tires. Probably 31's.

my apologies...must have been made differently than my old spacers. My RE ones told and even showed to put on top of springs.

It doesn't matter for the rear spacers. Some kits say bottom, others say top, you pick.

Looking for advise on painting my plastics. I was thinking black, but wonder how that would look against the blue. I was also thinking a lighter color like silver. What do you guys think. Probably looking at doing this in the next couple of weeks.

XJ_Renegade 08-10-2009 08:44 PM

I like black cladding for red and black; but I think silver would indeed look better with blue. I just painted my plastics black today. Make sure you use Krylon Fusion paint. Stuff kicks arse. Virtually no surface prep and dries in an hour. I only used 3.5 cans on both bumpers, rockers, and cladding so I'll probably also do the door handles and strip-O-plastic on the liftgate.

Ok, I've been playing around in photoshop a little bit...what do you think?

Silver plastics

or black plastics

WSPJeep 08-13-2009 02:33 PM

Black plastics all the way.

Ricochet88 08-13-2009 02:37 PM

black ftw!!

rugermack 08-13-2009 03:20 PM

Black, but different rims make a difference.

The time now is 11:11 AM.
