went to the junkyard last week and landed myself a bunch of lights. pic of the group
![]() so i played around with the lights all day yesterday for the most part. did some axle work, then got frustrated and went back to my lights. anyways comparison pic ![]() passenger side headlight is my old 8000k lights that turned white fog light in the middle is a ddm 12000k bulb. and the headlight on the driverside is a ddm 10000k bulb. notice a difference between the 12000k and 10000k? no? neither do i. and NO they are not that blue in person, theyre actually pretty white...sadly. comparison between stock fog light housing and ebay smoked housing beam pattern stock with hids: ![]() ![]() WOW! i had no idea the stock beam pattern was that good! looks like ill be using the stock housings ebay smoked housings: ![]() ![]() boo. too bad the ebay housings look much bettter. oh well again, the lights are nowhere near that blue in person. theyre actually pretty white. now for the bmw headlights ![]() low beam halogen projectors ![]() ![]() ![]() nice! bmw high beams ![]() ![]() not bad now for some aftermaket mazda housings we came across. first the low beam projector ![]() ![]() ![]() the bulb blowss^ ![]() i think i could summon batman with that beam pattern ![]() mazda high beam non projectors ![]() ![]() not bad.

heres the housing they came in
![]() ![]() the idea is to put the high beam housing somewhere in my fronnt bumper. almost like the iceland offroad bumper and what aftermarket housings would be complete without the halo ring? ![]() you guys are goinng to hate me for this one......... mmmmm bacon ![]() lol back on track ![]() badass! the glare isnt as bad as the pics make it out to be. and the reason the lights look so choppy is because there are wires hanging in front of some of them. so bright!! ![]() yes my workplace is pretty messy right now. and just the fogs ![]() ![]() that was just some of yesterdays fun. i love playing with lights if you guys can tell edit: oh and ordered this yesterday ![]()

Do you realise how much money you're going to spend on the trip to iowa to get the engine? You could get one{ locally that isnt in need of a rebuild for that price

yes. and oh well. get to go somewhere new, meet somebody new, get out of ohio, explore, etc. that and ill have an entire engine to mess with.
also, apparently it only needs and oil pump and bearings.

so heres the plan
as i said, my 5.9 arrived the other day in iowa. think my buddy (nashmd) is gonna have it rebuilt (bearings), and strip it down and clean it. then im going to remove my 5.2 from my jeep whenver im about ready to go out there. take my 5.2 to lima (where roger lives) and have my buddy bore it out to a 390 for $130 (that sound like a good price to you guys?). I will also take my stock heads with me and have him port the heads out and bore the valves out to 2.02s like the aftermarket aluminum eddlebrock heads are (he can do that for $60/head - oh and roger, dan said he wouldnt do yours for free, same price as me for you). Link to the eddy heads, mine will be like these just the stock iron metal. porting/boring out these heads should greatly increase flow and free up a good amount of hp ![]() Hughes Engines and i will replace my valves with these Hughes Engines and whatever valve springs i decide to go with/need. I will then take that bored 5.2 block (just the block) to iowa and trade it straight up for the 5.9 and parts. on my way back from Iowa, I will drop the 5.9 block off to the same friend and have him hone the block out for main and head studs and maybe a couple other things. that is so far the plan. between now and then I will be attempting to gather what parts i need for the 5.2 to 5.9 swap. again thats the plan so far. it may be subject to change as far as block exchanges and stuff.

That all seems so pointless to me. Why in the world wouldn't you just build a 390 if you're already going through the trouble of taking it apart and boring it, rather than drive all the way to Iowa to trade it for an old 360 that needs rebuilt? Or you could just sell the 5.2 out of your Jeep and recoup most of the cost of buying a 360 locally.

I was also thinking about selling my 5.2 to a friend, but the guy im getting the 5.9 from was wanting a 5.2 block to bore out for a stroker and wanted to see if id trade straight up vs me paying for the 5.9 block. the concern i have is i dont want my jeep to be down for that long with this whole process (since its already been down for so long and once its driveable again here soon i want to enjoy it for awhile). Any by time this whole engine process begins, Im planning on my jeep already being driveable again. like 30. lol

I tell you to get it on the road, and you buy lights and an ENGINE! If you need any more distractions, the axle swap and possible t-case swap will be occurring on woodruff this weekend...
