You were pretty lucky you managed to get the bolt out that holds the cross pin in. The shop broke one on the 44a I put under the 5.9, and I broke one trying to pull the shafts on the old axle.

EDIT: I'm not sure how much I'd trust the jackstands on the cinder blocks. Those are far too easy to break.

my old one broke. we drilled it out

iv used the cinder blocks a couple times, havnt had any issues. iv got the jackstands weight distributed on 2 cinder blocks. thanks for the heads up though.

John, you really need to get those cinder blocks out of there man. Seriously, that is a very dangerous setup. I have a friend who is now paralyzed from using cinder blocks in a similar manner. It might "work" for the back, but at any given time they WILL just give out.

What works real well and cheap is using some 2x12's (yellow pine) about 16" long.Stack them on top of each other & nail together. I have a set that i made and have been using them for about 15 years now. Thanks for listening to us. I would hate to see anything happen to you man.

massive interior cleaning

and

axle build/rebuild. those are the current main projects going on

ill run to harbor frieght in the afternoon and grab some 6 ton jack stands tomorrow.
