You pick it up for a decent price? Is it still fairly clean? I know that the bottoms of the doors and other spots were starting to go. Make sure you pull the 5.9 rocker covers and check/clean out underneath those.

You need to do that Jeep some justice and return it to it's glory days. For those of you that can't remember:

I would have to vote that you "finish" one jeep before starting work on the other. I want to see the black one on a trail.

It still is very clean. I got it with a set of TJ canyons on it which needed to go asap.

pics

When I got it, there was no tailpipe and it had a magnaflow muffler on it. So that was the first thing to get fixed

Boom

welded on a Flowmaster Super 44 and a 3" tailpipe I already had. Sounds much better.

About 4 days later it looked like this

Much better.

It does has some rust under the trunk and a little bit on the doors that needs some attention, but it is not rusting through just yet thankfully. I'll probably handle that by December over winter break.

Joe - Don't worry man, my black ZJ will be finished soon, I just had a lot of things come up that needed to get taken care of at home and with the gf's car to get it driveable. But it will get finished.

update:

IT LIVES!!

ran into an issue with the crank hitting the oil pan (5.2 pan) so i swapped a 5.9 pan back on and the noise is gone.
Then when I put the inspection plate back on the flexplate was hitting it causing another noise. So all noises were solved and it runs great. Ran it right up to operating temp and the fan kicked on.

anyways, pics

Need to have my friend use his DRV scanner from work to bleed the master cylinder, bleed the calipers, and then fill the tranny full and then it should be driveable

In other news, niner stuff

just a current pic of how it looks because i like it

got a RB1 Navigation cd from a member on here

and teh new license plates

Tough crowd..

Got to use a $10k snap on scanner from my buddy's shop yesterday to bleed my master cylinder..

We then bled the brakes manually.

Then a landmark event occured......

she moved out into the driveway under her own power. First time in over a year its moved on its own.

She was a wee bit dirty so I gave it a much needed back and its shine came back

On friday I will have all day to work on it. Gonna get the rest of the interior put back in, maybe a few other things

Tough crowd? What do you want us to give you an internet handjob because you got a cool license plate?

Looking good John. I didn't realize how long it had been, must be awesome to be this close to done. What are your plans for a bumper/grill?

thanks man! And yes it is very reassuring to know its all working properly. For some reason though I have this slight paranoia that the headgasket didn't seal properly but that's probably just me being paranoid. At some point I will do a compression test just to double check to ease my mind.

Hey ill take whatever you're offering

Its funny, i seemed to have forgotten myself that it last moved over a year ago. Not sure why but oh well. As far as the grill and bumper go, I've still got my black factory bumper that will be going on and the factory black limited grill. I do also have a primered 5.9 grill that I will try painting black with the factory black paint color. If it turns out well then awesome. If it turns out like crap then I will have it painted professionally at some point.

Im also in a similar situation with my hood. I have my factory black one that works fine. I also have a white 5.9 hood with matching hoodvents. I cant decided whether to paint the vents black with the factory paint color and just try to drill my current black hood and install the vents? Or if I should hold off and have both the vents and white 5.9 hood painted professionally. Can't decide. As of right now I think I'll try painting the vents myself and then drilling my current hood since i have two 5.9 hoods to look off of (the white one and the hood on my platinum 5.9). Time will tell.

Right now i need to get the rest of the interior put back in, finish buttoning up some odds and ends, then get it to this performance shop i know of to get the exhaust done.

Almost as bad as my 93. Went in the garage October 2010 I think, LOL - but any month now - with the addition of some parts from that TTG guy below

Wait - 5.2 and 5.9 pan are different? Or was your 5.2 pan dented up?

DITTO!

With the color matched ARB bumper and the Moabs that was one of the nicest lifted niners I've seen. (not that I'm an expert on lifted ZJs, roflz etc)

I've been seeing the 5point9 a lot on 4th lately. I saw you in my new TJ and beeped the other day, and then you smoked on down Summit like that 5.9 was meant to be used. My buddy seemed impressed with the sound, as I don't think he knew ZJs had V8s. Any updates?

That was you?! I remember that exact moment. I saw your tj and was like that's actually a decent looking wrangler (I don't see a whole lot of wranglers that actually stand out to me). And yeah I took off down summit lol. Forget where I was going. As soon as I got to 5th my gf told me that you had honked and waved which I didn't notice. Do you live on 4th between 12th and 13th? That same day after I saw you I was going.through the alleys to get to my apartment and immediately noticed the same.wrangler (yours) parked in a back lot. Couple days later I was creepin and saw your wrangler there again. I need to get your number again, I lost it when I switched phones. Well have to meet up and bs.

And yes there are many updates. Recently the 5.9 has been getting more attention than my blackzj simply.because it is my Dd and needs to be in good working order. But I have recently ordered a large amount of goodies for both of my pretties. Ill report back with more detail and pics later tonight or tomorrow when im on my computer and not my phone.

Get the black one trail ready for November with Ohio4x4! I'll PM my number.

I do not live over there, but I'm on 15th and 4th a lot because my fraternity is there. There is another built TJ that's always in that area though.
