UPDATE:

I got a call from Walt's Car Star today, and they gal said that they were less than $700 bucks from totaling her out. I guess behind the bumper had to have been nasty because it didnt look that bad, and it drove just fine. So, if they do that, im definately buying it back, and then we'll see if I'll keep driving it, or yanking all the parts off of it and getting on a new one.

My buddy said to turn it into a dedicated trail rig, but I dont have the space or the money

EDIT: Not totaled, but I wont have it back until 21-22 Dec. Got a pretty decent snowfall and each day without it is killing me!

I thought Betty would look good as a dedicated trail rig....

By chance do you still have the name of the ebayer that you purchased the sliders from? What brand are they anyway?

Nah, not totaled. Came waaaay close though. I didnt get any pics of it, because i was expecting it back after the estimate/before the repairs, but that didnt happen. Looking at it, it sure didnt seem like $4600 bucks worth of damage, but whatever.

So I sit here waiting for it to be done, over 2 weeks later... I get a call from Car Star on monday, and they said that the Jeep would be done on Friday. They decided to get me a grill that was already factory black to replace my painted chrome one, score right? Well they got it in yesterday and it had some glue on the finish from the factory or something. So they, in their infinite wisdom, decide to use paint thinner to get it off. Much to their surprise, it stripped the paint off the grill, imagine that! SO now they have to order me a new grill and I have to wait 'til next week to pick her up now... Grrrrrr

Their name was turbocity. And the brand was Rock-It parts. I looked on their website and didnt see the sliders anymore, but it might be worth a shot to call them?

It's been a while since Ive been on here, or done anything to the Jeep for that matter, so just a little update here. Just got done putting in an iPod Integration Kit for the RB1 in it. Its pretty kick ***. Kind of a pain getting wires routed through everything, but totally worth it in the end. No more messing with FM transmitters and all that other junk

Well my coolant loss/oil pressure problems finally came to a culmination today. My jeep has caught the 0331 head bug.

Ive been steadily losing coolant for a while, but i could never find where it was going. Then came the oil pressure problems, so i started off by changing the oil pressure sensor, to no avail. Then last night I changed the oil pump, which helped the problem but didnt fix it. I did more research today and peeked inside the valve cover (I dont know why I didnt do this before) and sure enough, I have milkshake sludge

Found out right in time though, tomorrow I leave on a 1000 mile road trip. So obviously the jeep wont be going with me

Any of y'all have input for a head? I would like to find a new one, but all I see are re-manufactured 0331's... Are newer ones any better or would a different cast still fit on my engine?

Haven't been on here in a while. New motor looks good. How is she running and what engine did you go with? Stroker?
