Best Year

Just wondering what the best year for a grand cherokee for a miled build 36" tires . I have a line on a lown milage 04 but has the 6 cyl , how is that compared to the 8cyl .
Any better years for axles or trans ?

An 04 with 36" tires will be FAR from a mild build. A mildly built WJ would be a 2" lift and 31" tires. Medium build would be 3" on 32" tires with some trimming. 33" tires are getting up there for an in-depth build (when done properly).

Have a look at what dillonjm did to set his WJ up on 37s: 2001 on 37s - Building it up

If a WJ on 36's is mild for you, I'd love to see your idea of wild!! Personally, I'd opt for a V8 with the 242 t-case for a starting point.

I'm new around here but my builds usually involve cummins turbo diesel ... its not a jeep but last one I built 6bt , nv4500 , 205 transfer , dana 60s with lockers , custom frame .
42"s are about average for my builds so 36's are mild .
