Best Budget Boost?

I know there's a lot of these threads out there, but I was having trouble finding anything specific to my question.

I finally got the itch to lift my jeep (for cheap and for a beginner ) and I was hoping you all could help me find the best quality 2" budget boost out there. I'd like to get the kit with shocks as well.. I plan to put on 30x9.5x15 tires too; if that makes any difference.

The main budget boost kits I've heard of are from skyjacker, rubicon express and teraflex. Just wondering if there's a "best" budget boost out there? I'm not a big off-roader but do head out in the mountains in the fall and winter during hunting season. The BB will be going on my daily driver. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, the spacers are all the same, just depends on the shocks. Go with the kit that has the best shocks that you wish. I don't have any experience with a set of shocks other than the old blown ones before I put my BB on, and the Bilsteins after the BB. So, needless to say, I'm jaded towards the Bilsteins. If you can afford them, then go for it, you won't get much better ride quality!

Is there any potential for a larger lift in the future? If so, I suggest saving your money for the larger lift.

If not, then BlackJack speaks truth

I really don't plan to go any higher in the future, though I know a lot of guys get the urge too once they start lol. But I think the BB will do for me. I don't want to spend the money for a complete lift kit anyway. thanks for the replies

If this is true, then just get a set of used spacers and order some Black Diamonds. I was gonna order those, but ended up getting the Bilsteins, cuz there was money burning a hole in my pocket.

Ok that sounds cool. I also forgot to ask about the effects with gas mileage. Like I said before, I plan on getting some 30x9.5x15 tires and probably some Crager soft 8's to go with them. Plus I have the I6, so how much will my power be effected with the BB and tires?

You shouldn't be affected too negatively, granted I have the 5.2, but I barely noticed my jump from stock to 31x10.5x15's. I've also got 3.73 gears though. Do you know what gears you have? Probably 3.55?

Uhhm, I have no idea what my gear ratio is. I doubt it'll make too much of a difference with power, but I was just curious.
Oh and thanks for finding those spacers for me; unfortunately I am getting my fender fixed next week putting me back roughly $500 and being a college student my budget is tight right now ...at least until I pay for my fender lol

Talk to them, who know's they may still be for sale, or just keep browsing the classifieds. That's where I found mine. And yes, your gear ratio will make a difference in MPG's and definitely power. If you have 3.55's, you would notice it more than if you have 3.73's. It's not going to be a dog, because you're staying at 30's, but if you go much bigger, you'll need to regear or swap axles to a better ratio.

The Rough Country BB with nitro shocks is a nice setup and not too expensive.

Oh ok. Thanks for all of your help blackjack, I much appreciate it. I obviously don't know a whole lot about jeeps, or cars in general lol.

Yea I just checked that out gmp, it looks nice. I'm going to keep looking around, I still have some time while my fender is getting fixed.
