Kind of had the gears in my head turning on the next set of bumpers I want made for it (which EOR will probably make). Decided to go ahead draw up a rough first revision sketch before I forget what I'm thinking about. Here is what I've come up with...

I've also been contemplating stepping up tire sizes from a 37" to a 40", still in the MTR/K flavor. Figured it was 1 tons, so why not. Only thing I'm worried about is the ability to stuff 40" tires. Not all to worried about the front, but its the back that I'm more concerned with. However, I'd like to do away with as much metal in the rear as I can. I guess we'll see...

Also talked to Kolak this past Thursday. Hopefully everything has been straightened out and my D60 Detroit will be here on Monday. Fingers crossed.

Thanks. Yea, it was just by coincidence that happened. I had been thinking about it for a couple days and then I saw Greg post the whisker picture on Facebook. Great minds think alike I guess.

As for the rear bumper, I'd kind of like to follow the design of the front. What I would really like to do is kind of follow what FCZJ did on the rear of his rig. Maybe not cut the rear hatch up, but get rid of a lot of the metal thats behind the tire. AP did a lot of cutting in the area as well. But I love how FCZJ's came out. Check it out...

Well, the locker didn't show up today. Surprise, surprise. We'll see what happens now...

Also going back and thinking about running the Solid unit bearing eliminator kit. After reading some JK forums, some guys are running these on some 60s and getting the speedo to work off the factory harness. If that's so, it will work on a WJ harness as well. Just have to splice in some new plugs and it should be good to go.

Yea, kind of something like that. Except the only part of the stock bumper that will be left is the metal in between the "frame rails".

That will look great. I never liked the tube look in the past, but it is growing on my now.

Thanks.

I'm the same way with tube. Definitely growing on me now. I think the simpler it is, the better it looks.

I think your design looks awesome. Can't wait to see it in the works.

I'm the same way too... when EOR did the custom backhalf and then put on a simple tube bumper on the rear, I thought "ehhh, I dont know about this"... now that its all done, I truly love the simplicity and effectiveness.

Thanks.

And been doing more research about getting the speedo to work with these axles. I'm thinking I can use the tone ring that's in the S10.5. The Ford tone ring is mounted behind the ring gear and has a 120 tooth count. If I ground down every other notch, I'd have 60. I feel like that would be close enough to a WJ's 54 (I think) tone ring tooth count to compensate with a speedo correction device, like the one Moony and gatorade used.

Yea, that's actually pretty close to what I want. Now that I actually see it, I may have to talk to EOR about seeing if there is anything we can do to suck in the winch.

Thanks for finding and posting that man.

Cut the grill and maybe some of the metal back there and suck the winch in. That's what I plan on doing when my bumper time comes around.

Yea, that seems like the only solution. That or not run a winch at all.
