No, i was concerning the heims. I've wheeled in and driven in many vehicles with welded in bungs for tie rod and drag link and I have never seen or heard of any problem. I mean if its your first time welding, I would be very hesitant to do that. But I'm sure you will have a very good welder building your jeep.

Looking at it and thinking about it more I think I'll end up with the crossover setup with chevy 1 ton TREs. I figured the biggest benefit to that is being able to walk into about any auto parts store and buying new ones.

Exactly my thought too. But, you could always just carry extra heims.

So, I've been thinking about the track bar mount. Would this one from Ruff Stuff be more beneficial since it's adjustable compared to the Ballistic Fab one? Would make it easy to get the track bar and drag link as parallel as possible.

VS.

Well, I pulled the trigger on the stuff from Ballistic Fab and BTF today. $1k in steel ftw.

Should be fun getting 150 lbs. of stuff though.

Thinking about getting my steering links and diff covers powder coated once they are ready to be installed. The steering will probably be done in black, but I'm thinking about some colors for the diff covers. Dark bronze and gun metal came to mind. Could always do red like on my 44a cover. Any other ideas on what color would look good under there?

I wouldn't bother . . . those are the parts that are going to be smashed against rocks first. Spraybomb them for $5 and be done with it.

I may not powder coat the tie rod, but I'll probably coat the drag link and track bar. My 44a cover is still looking good, so I don't see why not.

(side note: the fill plug is a 14mm hex and the 10 cover bolts are 6mm hex for anyone interested in buying this cover)
Speaking of your BTF cover, I just placed an order for mine. What length are the (10) 6mm hex bolts that you used ?

Thanks !

Don't exactly know. The hardware for the cover comes with it. No need to worry about getting bolts from the local hardware store.

Yea, they set you up with everything! It's great dealing with them.

And speaking of BTF stuff, look at the 50 lbs. of beef that showed up today!

Also finally got my Warn manual hubs.
