I have been doing research on coilovers and have been talking with downtownCb over on mallcrawlin. He is an engineer and has them on his zj.

I got exactly what you need to run, specs and all and got spring rates from saturnicl so let me know if you change your mind.

Ya know Brian, I'd actually be curious to see those numbers too! Sooner or later my WJ will end up on coilovers

Who knows what will happen. Go ahead and post those coilover specs if you want Brian, they may come in handy sometime down the road!

So I've been giving my gearing choice some thought today. I was originally going to do 5.13, but now I'm thinking 5.38. I figured since it's no longer my DD, I can afford to have a deeper ratio if I wanted. Plus after doing some tire size to rpm and gear ratio calculations, it came out to be pretty darn close to stock with the 37s and 5.38s. So I think I might go with 5.38s.

Oh that's good to know about the gears. I have 37s, and I was planning on 5.13s. But 5.38s were in the back of my mind.

The choice of 5.38s was also based on the fact that I have the 4.0 and these axles probably weight twice as much as the stock ones.

Might be a good excuse for a stroker motor sometime down the road.

37" Kevlars are actually in stock for once for $323/tire. I'm so tempted to go ahead and buy them now just so I have them instead of risking them being on back order later.

Haven't decided exactly what wheels I want yet. I'm still looking at beadlocks to be honest.

He is going 17s, we already know that. Just get beadlocks, you will be running 37s.

And for specs on coilovers, here is what I found out.

For coilovers, reservior is the way to go. If you go foa, get the billet preload, billet cap qith replacable heims and the 90 degree swivel . High temp seals are optional, depends if you are going to be drive baja style with them. (I will ) As far as valving, Cody hasn't got back to me yet but seems for mainly rockcrawling, med is the way to go on both but don't quote me on that. I am still trying to figure that out. And for springs on the WJ, 250/300. That is what SaturnICL ran on his WJ both front and rear.

And my plan is 14" coilovers front and rear. Cody runs claytons on his zj and said that is max amount of travel you get out of it.
