Well, a half-assed update. I can finally say the Jeep will no longer even be considered a DD. Just took delivery of my new daily this morning. It's a 2011 Chevy Cruze Eco with 1.4L turbo. EPA estimated 42mpg on the highway!
Manual trans ftw
Now that I have a new DD, I can concentrate on the Jeep...at least a little bit. I ended up moving into an apartment, so I have to leave the Jeep at my parents house/garage. I'll work on it on the weekends.
Only problem is that I still don't have a majority of my parts (lift kit, gears, shocks). It's coming up on like 2 months now since I ordered them. I don't know what the hell is going on. I know Kolak said it would take a little bit on some stuff...but damn. Kind of getting frustrating at this point cause I'd like to work on my Jeep and get it done so I can drive it.
Sorry it's taking so long - it's been extremely difficult getting Bilstein 5100 series shocks. The good news is that they are due to be available next week and then the lift and shocks will be heading out the door.
Gears are on their way to you - you got your master install kits didn't you? Those will be at your door next week sometime.
If you ever have any questions, email me - I'm always near my email and don't want you to worry.
Damn, I didn't mean for this thread to get out of hand like it did. Just going to say I have nothing against Kolak or his service. I've ordered through him before and never had a problem. I realize things aren't in his control once he puts his order through because he doesn't keep stock of any parts. I'm sure if he did they would be out the next day. Like I said earlier, Kolak did tell me the day I ordered my stuff that there would be some delay...especially on the shocks. But I figured I would get those last anyways. I just didn't realize it would be this long on the other stuff.
I'll also say he helped me quite a bit with some wheel selection over the phone. He knows his stuff and is willing to talk to you as a fellow Jeeper, not a salesman.
So, with that out of the way, back to what this thread is really about...my WJ. Thanks Brian for cleaning it up.
So, kind of going to put this out here for a feeler...

I take it you upgrading? Jk axles? That d60 from ecgs?
I'll have to receive the gears first. Still waiting on the lift and gears. Crossing my fingers they are on their way. But I'll let you know.
And thinking about it, but no and no. I think I'm going to keep this one to myself until some things possibly solidify. Don't want to get myself all hyped up in my build thread before anything happens. You all will be informed at the appropriate time. Should know some more things next week sometime.
Wait, the lift hasn't came in yet? Holy crap! I just thought I missed it. I hope it comes in soon too, I'm sure your anxious to finally get out of that bb.
As for the axles, you got me anxious to see what you choose. If your getting rid of the d30 and 44a you got to be doing some sort of f&r combo. I just want to see what it is, as I've said before your build is one of my favorites that I like to follow closely.
I'm hoping to try and find a DD too, but I'd really like to get my hands on an old comanche, as a work truck. That's all I really need, if I need to do anything else I could use the wifes wj. Then my wj could go to trail rig/ Sunday cruiser.
