sorry for the hijack, but Lakai, how did the gears treat your gas mileage? just curious.
the 4.10s and 31's were pretty good i'd say pretty close to stock...now with front and rear bumpers and 33's its in the crapper again...

Yea, the lights are big. Looking back, I kind of wish I got the 170s instead of the 240s. But what's done is done. They are STUPID bright though.

And I'd love to have an LSR bumper, but it wasn't in the budget.

Bumpers look good man; lights are...well...huge, I dunno if they may significantly affect air flow to the rad, I guess something to keep an eye for. Keep it up bud!

That is what I was thinking. Air flow is going to be restricted with those. Hopefully it doesn't cause problems. I'm sure Alabama summers are just like Arkansas ones were, not very forgiving.

Thanks guys. I knew I would get some flack for those lights, but oh well. If I could do it over again, I'd get the next size down. And I was keeping an eye on the temp gauge when I had them installed for the short time. There might be a slight increase in temp, but it never got over 210. If it started creeping up a tad, I'll throw a 180* t-stat in it or lower the coolant to water ratio.

So I pulled the track bar this evening to see if the bolt holes were ovaled out. The frame side one looks fine.

This one shows the bolt in there a little bit to give a comparison.

However, the axle side one looks like it might be ovaled out a bit. Before you actually thread it into the backside of the track bar, you can wiggle the bolt around in there pretty good. The axle side bolt was SUPER tight in there though. You still think it would be able to wiggle around and cause death wobble? Maybe that's why death wobble was a hit or miss thing with that axle side bolt being so tight? I tried getting a picture of the axle side, but the pictures were pretty crappy.

On another note, got my bumper fog lights wired up for the factory harness. These things are surprisingly bright. They are ProComp 55s.

I'll be sure to get some night shots when everything is put back together.

Any insight with the death wobble?

Alright, well I picked up some washers and I'm going to weld them to the axle side. We'll see how that works.

Bumpers look great! are you just going to paint them black, or put bedliner on or something?

Just painting them gloss black right now. We'll see how they hold up.

And whenever you're ready, I can send those tow hooks out.

I just had this same problem with death wobble. The holes on both the axle and the frame were wallowed out a little. I torqued the bolts down to 120 ft/lbs and i still had dw. So i finally welded the washers on there and problem solved. No more dw

by the way what the point of the fog lights holes with the lightforce there?

Thanks man. The light output with the LFs versus my old Hella setup is absolutely no comparison. I can EASILY see 1/4 down the road with them on. If I had the regular spot filters on them, I could see further than that. However, I don't think you can really compare HID to halogen to begin with.

I would never put four 240s on the roof unless this was a straight desert racer. If I was going to put any LF lights on top, it would be the 140s...maybe the 170s. The 240s are just to big for the roof.

The regular fog lights will just be for on-road use. A lot of the times (with my stock ones at least), I'll use them for day time running or those times when its dusk but it's not quite dark enough for headlights.

I've been real busy this weekend working on the Jeep. Got a new front output seal put on the transfer case, lots of painting on the bumpers and the track bar work. Here's some progress on the bumpers. They are starting to look real good. I'll probably be putting the rear one/carrier on tonight.

Started off by cutting off some of the body that extended past the rear bumper. I took off about an inch. Originally it looked like this...

Trimmed...

Sanded and painted where you could see the body from the top of the bumper. Figured it'd be less noticeable if it was black underneath...

Bumpers are coming along nicely...
