Bad Rocky Road Offroad (RRO) Experience :(

i guess i should have listened to everyone. placed an order from him last week and still hasnt been shipped. so i called and cancelled and ordered through Kevins and this is the email i get from Glenn Wakefield, the owner of rro,

"One-man backyard operations like Kevin's are able to ship quick as they only get a couple orders per day. Unfortunately I guess, the huge demand for our parts causes us to have to play catch-up this time of year. In slower times for our industry such as Fall coming up, orders are usually shipped same or next day. Good that you were able to find someone slow enough to ship right away though.

Is what this Glen fella says true ??. I know in my busy season I dont even book apointments. I'll call the night before I'm coming, If thats no good i'll call next time I'm in the area. Best be ready then... or call some back yard guy.

Kevin USED to be a backyard business, like 5 years ago . . . and if RRO had 1/10th of the good rep Kevin did they wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

Now you, and everyone else that read this thread is likely to never purchase something from him. So not only did he loose your business, but ours as well. I wonder why he's so busy... Maybe busy fixing his **** ups.

I ordered some sliders from him and they were set to ship next day, well no confirmation e-mail so I called after a week. "they should ship this afternoon actually" another call 4 days later, "well, we seem to have lost your paypal info, we will find it then ship" and another call the next day, "I just gave a call down to the shop, those sliders will be done being made at the end of the week" WTF!!!! so after about 3 weeks of waiting and calling they finally came! At least they are made well. Thats the best I can say about RRO.

IRO/KEVINS/KOLAK/CLAYTONS... Do not bother going anywhere else. Even based in the persian gulf these guys delivered on parts. All my driveshaft stuff is done through IRO now.

Wow is this RRO company that bad?? I always see the recommendations for the guys you mention but it's a wonder the RRO guys survive if they're pissing off people that post on a forum this size. Bad news always travels faster.
My daughter wants to lift her ZJ so I'm guessing RRO wont be getting a call from me. I have enough shipping woes being from the north.

Rusty is still in business after all these years of taking forever to ship stuff??

I've got their sliders, they donated them to GSW in 2001, so I've been running them close the 6 years now, they are indeed very well built.

Somebody asked how RRO (Rocky Road) can still be in business with all these negative comments being posted on the boards and my point was that Rusty's OffRoad has very similar shipping problems and they are doing just fine.
