Which aftermarket bumper doesn't have an integrated hitch?

You clearly don't understand this. Let me explain in simple terms so that even you can understand. There is a 10 year limit on RECALLS

Take away all the ones no longer on the road, all the ones who already have them and the ones who won't go in. Still a big number but it won't be near 1.2 million.

I can't wait for the threads to start popping up complaining about how someone with a 1993 ZJ didn't get a GC loaner lol

You clearly don't understand this. Let me explain in simple terms so that even you can understand. There is a 10 year limit on RECALLS meaning under the law they can refuse a recall on a vehicle that's over ten years old. In this case they are not doing that they are conducting the recall which means it will be paid for. They can't conduct a recall and then say we are not paying. Just once again so you understand the 10 year limit is on the recall once they decide to do a safety recall which this is that means it will be covered.

I cant see them not doing it though toyota started it all with the floor mat thing and quite frankly they never stopped with the recall and how many toyotas were recalled? I think they will just pony up and do it.

Kinda looked like his post got cut off, so he reposted. It happens.

The way I read it, the government wanted Chrysler to recall nearly 3 million vehicles. Chrysler obviously didn't want to do this, so they compromised - in return for the government getting off their backs about the more recent model grand Cherokees, Chrysler agreed to the zj recall even though the ten years was up.

Zj owners affected will likely get trailer hitches and possibly fuel tank skid plates for free.

The rest of the GC owners affected will be sent out notices, but the parts will not be free.

It seems to really bother you that someone might get a free hitch out of it. Then you keep posting this misinformation about it not being paid for on the older vehicles and then at one point I believe you said it was not a recall. I think you just need to get your facts straight before you post all this nonsense. Chrysler put out the Recall letter today that they will be sending to owners maybe you should read it so that you better understand what is going on.

*rolls eyes* I guess we're the only vehicles that have this issue.. I mean.. it's not like ANY gas tank in the rear is a possible fire issue

I believe the XJ's were known for this fear back in the '80's.

I'm also kind of doubting that the guys who have rusty or bent factory hitches will get free new ones, Chrysler has your build sheets already, they'll be able to tell if you took it off. But who knows?

True! I never towed more than a log splitter with my old ZJ, but that hitch came in handy for pulling other things....once pulled an eight foot long kudzu root out off the ground that was as thick as my forearm with it, and some other unwanted shrubbery
