I've really been thinking about tube doors, but I don't have the tools, nor the skill you have to make a set. If I sent you a picture, would you be able to guess how much you might charge for some?

Vedddddy nice man. A truss C to C is hard to do with coil springs, the coil buckets are kinda right in the way haha. Coilovers like yours, heck yeah!

Been working on the drivers side of the dovenose a little more

But I've been spending more time with the torchmate recently hehehehe

a lot of assorted brackets, and universal shock tabs hehe

Got brackets? Haha

I've got the drivers side mostly welded up. I still need to flatten out the transition a little, but its not too far off

Taurus fan vs engine clearance. I had to flip the fan upside down to shift the motor to the side so it wouldnt hit the snout of the water pump

The headlights are right up next to the radiator, just enough room for the connector.

Plenty of space for my future 8274 to be completely tucked in behind the grill

And I finalized my design for the radiator mount/front half of the engine cage. I used the torchmate to whip up some little brackets to cap off the corners and weld nuts into for my headlight mounts. I re cut the tube angle before welding today :flipoff2:.

This will sit up in front of the radiator connecting to the frame ends

And here's the start to my badass radiator skid/mount.

is that design going right under the radiator? does that include chopping up the front part of the unibody like in front of the firewall?

Thanks

Marc, the only thing that will end up under the radiator is the support/skid I just made in the last picture with holes in it. I need to finish attatching that to the frame rails and reinforcing it though. The trapezoid style structure will be going directly in front of (basically touching) the radiator very similar to my old setup.

The frame rails are staying intact, though I will have an engine cage, and future coilover mounts in the engine bay, with some more torchamte work involved haha

the cross bar will kinda be between - it's going to be in front of the engine but behind the radiator, and will be going in in hte next few days

Except for the 205 doubler, I don't think I'm in need of any significant upgrades for a while after all this, just wheel it and enjoy it .

That being said, no way I could pass up an opportunity to win a set of bilstein 9100 series coilovers hehehe.

Vote for me!

For sure man. In general I plan my downtimes around gaps between wheeling trips, so I pretty much don't miss wheeling trips. That has really held true through most my years so far, so I haven't had the...pain of upgrading all at once while everyone else is wheelin. I try to make sure I'm ready to go before each trip, and that I can tackle the project I want to do before that next trip.

I just about finished the radiator support today.

and here's the bottom of it.

Even though this is pulled back almost completely out of harms way (the front bar is moved 5" back from where it used to be, and I hardly ever hit it then), because I used 1/8" plate I was a little wary of hard hits directly underneath the radiator flexing the lower peice so I welded a vertical rib onto the back side that will help make everything that much more rigid. This thing can take a beating now

Alrighty gettin more work done!

I dropped that new structure in pace between the radiator and headlight bar

I'm going to weld tabs onto the headlight bar so it will hinge off the bolts. I'm then going to add a turnbuckle style device down low as the 3rd mounting point, and it will allow me to fine tune the rotation of the headlights to be perfect

I also finished all the welding and cutting on the drivers side fender and finally did the initial hood cut for that side. They're not perfectly symmetrical yet, but will be. I've got 5 days to get this done, I'm going to be at Fordyce next weekend haha
