Very nice work! I will probably be stealing some or all of your ideas in the fall.

updates on this build?

I rebuilt my slider mounts and now have my sliders welded to the frame instead of bolted as they used to be. The mounts I made actually tie into the claytons mounts with plate around the frame rail, should strengthen things up quite well.
Heres a pic of the bumper and shocks as they sit...

I have though, been wheeling the piss out of it this summer.

4th of July weekend my buddies and I wheeled Slickrock:
(The Ladder, here http://www.agitatedpancake.com/rando...g%20Ladder.mpg)

and Deer Valley:

Then the next weekend we did a 1 nighter out on the Rubicon...no trail pics but I did pick up some damage.
Front bumper needs to be redesigned from the center section out

Kisses

Attempting soupbowl, got tagged up pretty good

Heres a vid from the rubicon, has our soupbowl attempts too

Well I was told I need to update this build so I'm gunna throw a few pics up for giggles. Done some work recently, after that massacre of the front bumper I decided to rebuild the sides for better clearance and strength.

Then wheeled it some more

On that trip, 5 miles in to the 6 mile long Barrett Lake trail I shattered a rear axle finally around 8:30PM. We decided to turn around, and limped it all the way back near the trail head, setting up camp around 1:30AM. Next moring made some calls, got a new shaft lined up and a ride up to us so we went out to the pavement, and tore the rear end apart. When the shaft arrived we threw it back together, then wheeled the whole trail again event-free to save the weekend! Went on a long hike from the lake and got some EPIC scenery also.

Aaaand then we fast forward to now. The D44a is semi for sale, and I am picking up a 9" tomorrow...set up for claytons suspension with a Strange nodular 3rd member, 35 spline moser axles, detroit locker, and a u-bolt style yoke for the 1350's. I'm stoked.

Looks good man, you really wheel the crap out of that thing. How did you snap a d44a shaft?

haha yeah I beat the hell out of it. The 44 shaft was actually quite a predicament, it was a chain reaction thing. I was on one of the hardest obstacles of the trail when I flexed out too hard and dropped a rear coil. We didn't notice for a sec, and I pushed for the next part untill I got on it hard. The body dropped onto the bumpstop on that side, ripped the bumpstop off the truck sending the tire FULLY stuffed into the wheel well and at the same time snapped the shaft. Part of the reason it bound up was my tire was jammed up against the wheel well that hard.

Sorry the lense of the camera was super dirty, but this was RIGHT when it happened. Talk about stuffin 35"s.

Theres no comparison against the MTR's, but I also stepped up to a 35 at the same time. These things have taken me everywhere I've wanted to go so far, they stick way better than the MTR's did for me.

*edit* your low ridin 31"s, I'm low ridin 35"s sucka! I was just looking at my pic again...the rim itself is probably 3 or 4" from my CUT fenders. That is insane!

Haha they aren't for the WJ, might be getting a set of 35x15.5 for the CJ but they might be wide for my set up. Just curious as to the grip they are giving you. Thanks.

What made you decide to run your shocks like that?

The shocks were the main limiting factor in the rear suspension and I didn't like how stiff the shocks were in factory location, triangulating softens the ride and allowed more flex.

Bonus for the day, 9" pics for me to get pumped up with.

Pinion guard...good god

Hmm

Moser FTW.

Strange 3rd.

Full bracket kit already installed, came out of a claytons-equipped TJ. It even has lower spring retainers so I wont be losing any more damn springs!

Lol yeah I always wheel with all my windows open, the weather is generally so nice up in the sierras. The downside is the dust
