been messaging Ryan "Arlo", about making homemade bumpstops. 50 bucks from IRO is hard to bite for an extension, especially if I can make my own since I have a welder.

I've been stressing about these BS issue lately just because the gang and I are planning on fishing west side of the island next month where there 12" tacoma's tilt like crazy. I want to get everything properly setup, with extra time to fine tune. I'll update later when progress continues

Today I made my own extended bumpstops since I couldnt bare to spend 50 bucks on something so simple...

Bought rectangle block metal from a local shop. They cut them and gave them to me for 5 bucks. Hella alot better than 50 + shipping!! Measurements of the blocks are 1/8" thick, 1 & 1/2 wide, 3" long, 3" tall. I then disconnected my battery terminals, grounded as close as I could and prepped the axle and blocks with sandpaper. Welded them down to the axle and goooood to go

I couldnt get any pics of the blocks welded to the axle, everytime i tried my camera phone blinded it with the flash, or was too dark without it...

Is it me or could I flex more? I couldnt find anything more to climb..

It they are cheap, I would get them. Even if you don't install them right now, they could be used to level it back out in the future if you add heavier bumpers.

Not planning on any heavy bumpers anytime soon..was thinking about adding a bit more height to help get more flex with 32"s...think i should also get control arms? or could i use the stocks for now (i know RRO utilizes stock control arms...yes bad company, but great product, i know Shinobi once had it)

Ahhhhhh.....I'm passing on the spacers. The jeep runs exactly how I want it too, and I shouldnt get over my head. Higher lift means possible driveline vibes, and blowing my DS up. I'll use the money I'm saving to some sliders that I've been eying up

been looking at sliders, and man is it a hard choice....RRO has prolly the nicest ones IMO, since they angle up high and look as if they'll glance off rocks, instead of plant you on them. Too bad about they're reputation though. IRO premium sliders are also nice, but i'm still keeping my options open.

Also been really thinking about cutting my front fenders. Any opinions on that?

Also been thinking about a front locker on the ol' D30, I dont want the rear to be ratcheting...I'm open to suggestions.

I like the Iron Rock sliders, they are sweet. I have seen them on a couple of WJ's and was very impressed. I have the Iceland sliders and really like them, but I don't think they flow well on a WJ unless you have the flares.

In regards to trimming your fenders, it isn't that hard to do. Are you doing it for looks, or for clearance? Do you have any rubbing issues?

I love the looks of my new iro sliders ive been thinking of trimming my finders too, would like to be able to run discoed, and been wanting some wheel spacers. Just wish I had the cash for a long arm kit.

Jeep looks good man, keep up the good work

Hmm, I've seen Cnolenwj with his newly installed sliders and they look good with nice angles to them. I know what you mean about the Iceland ones, I wish I could afford the flares since they allow more fender room

I don't rub at all with the custom bumpstop extensions I did, but I just want to flex more Just the front I plan on trimming. Do you have any experience with it 85IrocZ?

Thanks bro! Your jeep looks good too and I've been searching this past week for a wj with premium sliders! hahah. If your rubbing, you could extend your bumpstops like how I did until you plan on trimming.
