Hey! My jeep used to look just like that. Minus the red stripe and green seats. Best thing I ever did as far as looks was getting rid of ALL the gold and painting those wheels gunmetal.

I tried the tire on the roof for 2 days. Didn't like it. It doesn't look right with street tread tires and it make too much noise bouncing the cross bars around. I had it bolted on too.

X2 on the lift. Even a BB with your upcountry springs.

yeah so here's a little update:

took the spare off, sooo much quiter now. i liked it at first, then it became funny looking and more trouble than its worth. i would like to remove some of the ugly stripes, and give the jeep a nice wash and wax.

i actually saw a complete 2" spacer lift on ebay for $58. Rancho shocks and SS with 4 2" spacers. I just don't have any money to spend on the jeep right now due to some legal bills and such. Give me a few months and i'll get this thing looking sexy again.

removed the gold strip around the cladding today. i wasnt careful on the rear left panel and took off a good ammount of paint aghhh! not like the rest of it was flawless. it now matches my scuffed bumper and fading paint!

other than that it looks fantastic pics soon to come.

for anyone that wants to do the mesh grille, do NOT use hot glue. it ****s it up and falls apart. rahhhh!

so now im just running the grille without any inserts, lots of airflow (good thing??), and i dont really mind the look.

so i have no idea what to do next. birthday is at end of march, gonna try and get front windows tinted, maybe something in the exhaust area? and i'll also be tinting front turn signals sometime soon.

what did you use to mesh your grill? I was going to do this, someone said chicken wire at home depot, but I couldn't find any. and what size?

thanks

Looks good. How did you go about debadging and taking off the stripe? Also how did you have those fog lights mounted?

I used hot glue on mine too and it fell apart that night. I was pissed too cause i spent a lot of time on it woth my friend

Jeep looks good tho, try figuring out another way of doing the mesh nicely. Hot glue and zipties (no thankyou) were my only options

for removing the stripe i used a razor. just find a good discrete place to make the first cut, and slowly pull it off. it might pull off a little bit of paint, so be careful. as for the debadge i used a blow dryer and a plastic spatula. then i rubbed WD-40 and goo gone on the sticky resin left behind.

as for the foglights, i had to mangle the base with a drill to fit them in the stock location. they were waaaay to heavy so i ultimately drilled 2 holes in the back and zip tied them to my grille. very ghetto, and i didnt like it at all. they would fly around when i had them on, like i could see the beam go up. lol it was ridiculous.

Nice lookin orvis

To keep the mesh attached to the grill, I used 6 min epoxy. I first tried the normal one that you mix yourself because I already had some on hand, after making a mess and [I]kinda[I] attaching on insert, I ran to Home Depot and got the epoxy with the self-mixing applicator. The rest of the inserts were a breeze.
