i also have 2 kicker comp vr 12's brand new. i have 2 pioneer 760 amps, 1 for each sub. also running a capacitor which i dont even like but it works. For u audio guys... i have a question. First i just changed out my 2 pioneer subs for the 2 cvr's and its not loud i think i wired sumthin wrong. They r on but they dont hit to hard and they cut out wen i turn it up. Im gonna bring it to a local system guy to check it out but anyway, i have 2 2 channel amps... the subs r dual 2 ohms so they have 2 ports on them each... 2 positives and 2 negatives. i am running a channel on an amp to a port on the sub. So 1 amp is wired to each sub and 1 channel to each port. If that makes sense? Is this wired right?? my pioneer 12's hit kinda hard but not that impressive.

im not exactly sure a guy tried to explain it to me and i actaully have this problem somone can chime in to help but you have to the match the ohm rating of your subs with your amp my sub doesnt match with my amp so it cant put out as much power as it should but it is still plenty loud

yep, i got it from frys for $100

it hits plenty hard for what it is, and i love it. the song was welcome to the trap house by jelly roll

and for you erbo...

ohms = resistance. lets say you have a 500W amp at 4 ohms. at 2 ohms it produces 750W. less resistance = more power. all you need to do is wire the subs and amp correctly to the same ohm-age (is that a word?) and the amp will evenly split the power.

such as 4 ohm = 250W per sub while 2 ohm = 375W per sub. you might need a thicker gauge wiring depending on the subs, like, 2 12's at 2 ohms i would use no smaller than 4 gauge. if you have 2 15's depending on the power, you might even wanna consider 1/0 gauge wire.

that is the wrong way to do it. you're on your way to a fried sub.

if you want to use one amp per sub. bridge the 2ch outputs properly. if wiring for 1ohm operation your sub should be wired amp pos to pos on one coil, amp neg to neg on other coil, bridge pos to pos and neg to neg on coils. paralell.
if going for 4ohm(not sure why you would unless you've got a cheap amp) bridge the amp, run the amp pos and neg to pos and neg on one voice coil, then jump pos and neg to pos and neg on the sub. series.
btw, incorrect install will void any warranty on the product. don't take it to someone affiliated with kicker.

your instructions for the amp or subs should have very nice drawings explaining this. as it is you're most likely sending signals to each voice coil that are a little bit off, or even in stereo, and it's trying to tear your sub up.

thats alot of beat for $100! the guy was telling my that my amp is either a 2 or 4 ohm amp and that my sub is a 4 ohm he said i needed to get a different amp to get all the power out of the sub i wish i knew what i was talking about lol but it beats hard enough to hurt peoples ears in my car so its fine for now that songs sick too btw ive never heard of that guy

i know! it was a hell of a deal.

most days everything will accept almost any ohm if you know what youre doing. i've seen crazy systems where its wired down to a 1/4 ohm!

and yeah jelly roll is fresh lol, he's part of lil wytes production stuff.
