99Avant's Laundry List

I am not going to do a typical build thread, there is nothing here that hasn't been done yet. Specs can be found in my profile, I keep it up to date.

But I do continually work on my jeep, and sometimes I have a hard time keeping track of what I want or need to do. So here it is: my laundry list. Please do offer any comments/questions/input.

-Passenger front lock actuator has been chirping since I bought the Jeep. It has recently stopped unlocking the door. Time to stop ignoring it.

-I have been loosing/burning oil. About a quart a month. Coolant looks good and there was nothing weird in the oil when I changed it last week. Gotta figure out where that oil is going then decide if I need to do anything about it.

-D44a cover and fluid change. I might ask for the blue-torch cover for Christmas (no rear sway bar). The fluid is pretty new, but it is 75-140 synthetic and I do not feel the need.. So I am going to go back to 80-90.

-Power steering system is leaking, both from the hoses and the box. My plan is to buy a used box and replace all seals, and get new hoses. Not only does the stock box leak, but it is extremely loose. I think getting one that is a little newer will help.

-Front bumper. I currently have a Laredo front bumper, and a limited rear/cladding. Call me odd, but I like the look of a Laredo. Depending on when and where the money comes from, I may get a steel front bumper or Laredo cladding and rear bumper.

- I want to trade out my BB/Upcountry for some 3" coils. Not needed, just a desire of mine.

-Cooling. I messed up my fan shroud last winter during my water pump replacement. My fan clutch is also on its way out, so something needs to be done.

-Lighting. I need to fix my high beams, one of them doesn't work, even with a new bulb.

Does that include your friends passenger seat?

Had to ask.

If you like the cladding, what about rhino lining the bottom instead? You get the same look but it is protected better. Then you can buy you a nice bumper to hold a winch and protect the front end, and buy a rear bumper with a swing away carrier. That way you still have the look of the Laredo cladding protection of the rhino lining and nice bumpers front and rear.

I had thought of that, but forgot. It would look something like this, I like it.

A week ago today I bent a rod in my engine... Seized it. Pulled plugs, drained oil- still all seized. I get the click of death..

Still unsure what I am doing with it, But I sure would like to find a new engine that isn't $1500.

Here is how it sits... Tires are sold, so it is in hovercraft mode till I get my steelies mounted up.

In the meantime, I now own a 94 XJ Hovercraft. Picked up some cheapo rims and they go on tomorrow.

You either have a very understanding apartment complex or a very lazy landlord.

Yeah, my old condo would have been on my *** for having even a tire off the ground.

The jeep is parked in the lot behind my apartment, which is a city lot for the baseball complex. It is not used in the winter, so no one will give me crap for it.

Getting wheels and tires all mounted up for both jeeps right now, gotta pick them up in the morning.

If I get what I want for them, then I will sell. But I will want them when/if I get a new engine.
