They're Cooper STT's. I've got a new tire/wheel/lift setup in the works though, the BB just isn't doing it for me anymore. Your jeep is way clean.

Finally got my first peice of recovery gear on by installing my hitch today. Next up is either kevins, or rustys front hooks. Just saw a write up on rustys hooks on here, they look nice for only $75.

Have any junkyards near you? Might be way cheaper to go with OEM if you can find some. Plus you get the advantage of knowing how stuff comes off before you have to put it on your jeep.

Been trying to find some. Went to about 4 junk yards around here and no jeeps had a hitch or front tow hooks. When I asked if any would have them, they gave me this look like I just asked a stupid question, and when I insisted I go out and look anyways, they gave me an even nastier look. Oh well

I went shopping the other day and bought the hitch, a large 30 foot strap thats about 3 or 4" width kinda just like rustys off road sells, and a large 3 1/2ton floor jack for workin' on the jeep. The parts are slowly coming together!

A buddy of mine that I work with has been working on bikes now for a long time. He does alot of metal work and custom parts for harleys, and he overheard me and my buddy talking about trimming my fenders. He asked if he could cut them for us, and show us how to do it right. I agreed to let him cut my jeep, and we went from there.

I could hardly watch as he cut into my jeep.. I had my head turned throughout most of the first fender.. It was a bad feeling getting the jeep cut into by someone else, especially when you have another buddy cracking jokes about how it looks like ****.

Here we used the cut off front fenders to make a perfect line to follow when cuttin the back. Worked great.

Finished product on the trail 2 days later...

Crappy in the city because its slow taking off from a stop, but amazingly great on the highway. It cruises at 85 no problem at really low rpms. I get great gas mileage on long distance trips too. Offroad it climbs great, but could use some more gear in the sand though. I think 4.56 gears would give it the kick it needs.

i dont have enough pictures to constitute a build thread as it would be a "when i got it" consisting of 3 pictures and say 5 "now with a lift on" lol. ive thought about it but i just dont have enough material. whats funny is that i looked high and low for the rims you have and couldnt find them anywhere so i had to settle for the soft 8s

Could you get a few detailed pictures of the lower portion of the cuts you made on the rear fenders?

Dave: Did you cut just the inner part of the rear fender? It looks great IMO.

Do you have any showing the inside of the outmost part rear bumper?

I lost the mud guard/ inner fender housing in the back so there's nothing back there... Wondering if you still have yours.

We cut more on the rear fenders than it looks like in the picture. We took the cut all the way back to the rear bumper. I took the mud guards inside the wheel wells out for the cutting process, and put them back in right after. We didnt touch the rear bumper at all when we cut, we just flushed the cut line we made with how it originally flowed into the rear bumper from the factory. It was hard to do, but we used the front pieces we already cut out to make a really perfect line.

Also, I think when cutting the rear the decision to not bring the cut line up where the door bends in the rear fender made it look more clean. I wanted to pull it up as soon as it got past the door bend, but my buddy recommended we stay low, so we did. Ill snap a few more pics tomorrow to show you just how much we actually cut off if you would like me too.
